Pregnant after IF

When did you pack your hospital bag?

For those that have done this already (or plan to soon) when did you put your bag together?

I have this fear of going into labor early and not being prepared Sad

IUI#1 - 05/20/08 = BFP! M/C - 14 weeks :( baby girl
IUI#2 - 01/07/09 = BFP!!! Twins!! Pre-term labor 20 weeks :( lost twin girls
IUI#3 - 1/31/10 = BFP!!!! M/C - 8wks :( again
IVF #1 - 7/2010 = c/p
FET - 9/2010 = another c/p
IUI#4 - 2/14/11 = BFP!

  • Does it count that I've THOUGHT about doing it? I'm such a horrible procrastinator...luckily, we live about 3 miles from the hospital, so I'm not too worried!

  • I'd love to see the responses. The insane me wants to pack a bag now... but I think it's to early and I'd cause myself anxiety over whether I'd need it that early....

  • I packed at 36-37 weeks with my first...  around the time I had my first internal exam when my OB found I'd already made a fair amount of progress.   He said, "I hope your bags are packed!"    I packed that night.   ha!

    Because we're fancy like that.

I confess this is totally me too!  I'm interested to see when others packed their bag!

  • I had mine ready by 33-34 weeks but that was because I'd had all those PTL scares. I think 36-37 weeks us more typical.

  • I've been thinking about this so much lately!! I feel like it's too early, but I am a planner and hate to be unprepared...probably in the next couple of weeks I will start getting one packed...I know it's early but it's the obsessive side of me :)

  • I think I actually put stuff in a bag at around 35 weeks. But I started stocking up on stuff for my bag probably around 30 weeks. I also stocked up on cleaning products for the house and toiletries which was a huge help.

  • With DD1, I was planning to pack it around 37 weeks or so, but then my water broke at 33w6d and I was in such a state of shock that I really couldn't even wrap my head around what to take with me. Thankfully DH stepped up and grabbed a few things, but none of it was stuff I would have chosen and I would have been much more comfortable if I had been prepared (I actually had to go home in his undies b/c all mine were bikini style and couldn't be worn with my new C-section scar). This time around I started packing around 33 weeks. I've still got a couple more things to throw in, but it's mostly there.

  • Ive read a few articles on the subject, then I found this site on FB and found this link after surfing the site a bit:

    https://www.newparent.com/pregnancy/what-to-pack-for-the-hospital/

Sorry I cant make it clicky :( This list may be a little long, but not by much compared to other one I've seen. I'm an overpacker anyway. :-p
