I'm posting this because I never knew about all of the activities and classes that the Montgomery County Recreational department offers. They *just* came out with their Fall 2011 guide which you can download as a PDF at the link below. You can also pay $5 per year to have each seasonal guide (4 per year) mailed to your home which is what I did.

I was really impressed with the number of activites and classes they have. I know a lot of people ask about swim classes on this board and they have a ton of swim classes for all ages which are very reasonably priced (around $60 for 6 sessions). I believe the swim classes fill up fast so if you are interested, the fall registration opens on August 17.
They also have a number of arts, crafts and music classes for kids starting from about age 2. The guide also lists fall festivals, music festivals, and other activities. So, I just wanted to share in case some of you didn't know about this.
I used to live in Fairfax and I believe their county has a similar guide as well for those living in VA.
Re: PSA for Montgomery County Moms - Recreational Activities
Just an FYI, the City of Rockville has similar programs. It costs a little more if you do not live in Rockville, but anyone can use the programs/facilities.

Thanks. I didn't know that they have programs too.
Yes, we did lessons with the Y last time and it was much more expensive (at least more than double). That's why I was so happy to learn about the county programs.
