Can you explain to me a little about the epsom salt bath? What is the ratio to water, etc?
My daughter is having severe skin reactions to who knows what. She has rashes in every crevice and it looks to painful (but it doesn't seem to bother her). Do you think a bath like that could help her skin? Thanks!

LOVE epsom salt! Here is a blog post I wrote about it and all the amazing uses: https://thestradtnerfamily.com/findingournewnormal/?p=174.
As it relates to allergies, epsom salt helps regulate over 300 enzymes in the body. It also reduces inflammation (that is what allergies are, an immune reaction that results in inflammation of the gut/skin/etc.). I would start out with 1/2 a cup in the bath before bedtime. We've worked our way up to 2 cups in the bath for our 3 and 6 year old. Our oldest (14) uses 3-4 cups. When I'm detoxing, I use an entire 4 lb bag. Set a timer and stay in for only 20 minutes or you can reabsorb some of the toxins pulled out.
For skin problems, I recommend adding several tablespoons of baking soda. Both of my kids have had severe eczema related to allergies and the baking soda REALLY helps. You can do baking soda and epsom salt at the same time in the same bath for added effectiveness.

butting in --- thank you for this! i'm going to do this when my son's skin flairs up.
How often do you do the bath for your kids like this? I might want to use it in my bath (first i need to take a bath lol)
also - do you ever do a bath like this for your kids if their skin is fine?
Thanks so much! We didn't get to try it last night, but I am hoping I can soon. Her poor arms and stomach are a mess. Breaks my heart.
Thanks again!
