Today is Wills 2nd birthday (sigh) and I am going to attempt to make a 'cake' for him while he is napping. He can only eat pears, wheat, and carrots, so it should be interesting. I am going to mix the pears and wheat and make them pancake style. Then I will use the carrots and wheat to make a similiar mixture. Then I am going to cut them in a car shape and stack them so they are more of a cake thickness. I wish he could have something I could make a frosting out of though...
I hope he enjoys it! His party is on the 21st, so this will be my trial for his cake for that day as well.
Re: Wish me luck...
good luck!!! I'm envisioning something like pancakes stacked on top of each other to make it look like a towered cake. Maybe you can make a sweet (can he have sugar?) puree of one of his veggies as the fillings?
As long as the candle sticks.. i think kids get mainly excited to blow out a candle
let us know how it goes!
Happy Birthday to your LO.
Try to make a cake out of the only foods your child can have is challenging, but I'm sure you can do it.
Pears sound great.. you can probably mix the pear puree with some wheat to make it thicker and then some chunky pears for texture.
