I do not enjoy going to the shoe store with DD. In fact, I think it's torturous and a huge time suck. I was dreading getting DD#1 her fall shoes because last time we went to StrideRite at the mall, there were 7 kids in line in front of us to get fitted and only one person working. I started to imagine taking *two* kids to the mall to get fitted and my blood pressure went up. Plus, DD has wide feet so half of the time they don't have the size and width I need in the shoe I want. So then I have to select a different shoe and the sales person has to go to the back and check to see if they have it. Then we continue the cycle a few more times.
So, I decided to bite the bullet and get a junior Brannock device for the bargain price of $65 off Amazon. I can't believe they cost that much but I figure that we hope to have 3 kids so that should make it worth it. Plus, I hope I can sell it on eBay when I'm done with it.
Anyway, I'm excited about the prospect of measuring DD's feet at home and ordering shoes online from Zappos or ShoeBuy. I just read a tutorial about how to do the measurements so hopefully I will do as good of a job as the StrideRite people. Anyone else have one of these and do you like it? Mine should be coming in the mail today so I'm going to give it a whirl tonight.
Re: I'm a proud new owner of a junior Brannock device
I totally would. One of my neighbors was over the other night and she was talking about how she was dreading taking her two girls to the mall to get shoes. I'm going to offer to do their measurements at our next playdate. I should carry it around to all of my playdates.
Sounds like you'd be rather popular if you did that. Can we drive up to MD to play with you? :P
Anytime!
Yes, maybe this will be my "in" to meeting more moms in my new neighborhood.
I agree.
