oh and care package suggestions?

What to send what to send?!!

dh isnt into candy and sweets. he'll eat cookies but nothing chocolate.

what's some good things to put in a care package? I'd like to make some cookies...probably just plain sugar.

what else do you put in there?  I think they have some sort of bx thing on most bases so cant they buy most of the snack type stuff?

Dh cant tell me where he is so I really have no clue what's available.

Re: oh and care package suggestions?

  • you can maybe get around that by asking -- is there anything I can send you that isnt available where you are? Or just -- is there anything you are wanting me to send you from home?

  • Love the great info... I haven't read them all but my husband and others have said:

    Phone cards (My husbands favorite)

food he can carry in his pocket like beef jerky or pop tarts, i would think gum and candy?

how about some packets of sugar free koolaid (or anything thing he could easily pop in his water bottle. Koolaid may bring back happy memories??

I would go to the library and burn him a ton of movies.. he can pass these on too, he may have lots of down time with nothing to but the the gym

A small toy he can give a child

  • One more:

    FOOT POWDER!!!!

    Gel soles great idea!!!

  • Best thing I have done is the bread in mason jars.  (I googled a recipe for this)  You bake cake/muffin/bread whatever directly in the jar, seal it while the bread is still hot (keeps it fresh for MONTHS while it travels there!!)  I decorated the lids for different occassions, such as fall, or Christmas.  I would put tubs of icing in there as well for the cake jars.  My DH shared them with his unit and they LOVED having home baked goods.  Since he doesn't care for sweets, maybe pumpkin bread, or like zucc. bread (I can't spell zucchini??)  I am sure that whatever you send, he will love what you send!!  Have fun and good luck!
