i survived. barely. dh wasn't able to take time off while his mom, her husband, and dh's little sister were here, so it was up to me to entertain people i'd never met. then he got a call to go to a job 8 hrs away so for the second week i was stuck with em! they stayed in our house the.whole.time. then, ended up staying two extra days, omg, i was peeved! mil was a nightmare! she held on to ds nearly the whole time, i would have to take him from her, &there were a couple times he would be crying and reaching for me and she WALKED AWAY with him. i ebf, but give ds oatmeal at night, i would let her feed him and she made it known she thought he wasn't being fed enough, even going as far as force feeding him several times, i would have to go rescue him, poor kid would be screaming and spitting oatmeal all over and choking on it. i almost lost it completely one night when i was giving him a bath, she always stood in there and watched, she was cooking something and had to go check on it, she says 'sorry lil man, i need to go cook, you'll have to let mom give you a bath without grandma's supervision.' excuse me?! i've been bathing the kid for almost 6 months thank you. the next night she completely took over giving him a bath, i just let her because they're never here, and i kept biting my tongue for the same reason. why start trouble with someone who is states away and never around? then the day before they left she says they're planning on moving here soon. ugh. please no. esp since she now thinks she can walk all over me like that, i totally regret not standing up for myself now. i've been on the fb group a ton, but haven't had time to be on tb, i missed my free time!

OMG that sounds like a nightmare. Your inlaws come to visit and then your DH goes out of town?! I would have put my foot down on that one. And you'd never met your inlaws before? Your DH owes you BIG TIME. Crossing my fingers for you that they don't decide to move nearby!

sorry, didn't realize that was so long! i'm on my blackberry so its hard to tell. thank you ladies, i don't know how it kept it together. dh and i have been together 6 yrs, but since his mother has been living in california with her replacement family the past 10 yrs we haven't met. dh is just to the point where he's talking to her again, she's totally bsc.

Holy crap, that's awful! Kudos to you for being able to keep your cool for 2 whole weeks! I've have lost my sh!t after about 4 hours.

Maybe you can send her an email politely stating that her behavior was unacceptable, and if she can't behave, she isn't welcome back. Or maybe your husband should do it.

All I saw was the heading of this forum and I cringe... no way in h... I would have my IL over nor my parents for that long.
