3rd Trimester

DH is driving me nuts and all I want to do is cry!

I know at 37 weeks I still have 3 weeks to go but honestly I just want to whine for a minute.  I still work full time and hope to up to delivery to get more time with LO when he gets here.  I put on a bright smile at work and with my patients but just want to be honest at home about how I feel.  I can't bend over and tie my own freaking shoes without it hurting my abdomen.  It takes some shower acrobatics to shave my legs. My LO spends all evening under my rib cage to the point where I can barely breathe, let alone sit.  I have felt full after eating since way back around 26 weeks, no matter how small the amount I eat.  The freaking nausea is back with full force and I'm just tired of being pregnant!  I want this baby out & I want my body back. Honestly I've hit my brick wall with 20 days left to go.

DH just make me nuts, not that I want him to baby me, but honestly its not a contest on who is the tiredest when we get home from work.  He's never been the romantic or touchy type, and that has never bothered me, but seriously he milked a pulled muscle last week for days!  How the heck would he like to have his pelvis that screams when he first gets out of bed or even a chair.  A leg that goes numb from baby pushing on the nerves.  A back that hurts by evening no matter what I do during the day. And lord help me if I'm the least bit grouchy, so sorry bud!!!!

Ok, done with the whine for now!

You're right, it's not a contest.  You win.

  • I would just continue to whine and if it really starts to drive him crazy you can say, "Well if you give me a back massage maybe it won't hurt and I won't have anything to whine about. Why don't you try it."

  • DH wanted to milk a headache this weekend...I asked "can you take excedrin?' he said "I suppose" my answer was "great then do it, because i can't and your whining is starting to give me one." (probably not my best moment)

  • ITA! DH just started working again after not having a job for 33weeks of my pregnant (notice my ticker). ANd he came home yesterday saying how tired he was and how i wouldnt understand how much his feet hurt (he works in a warehouse). I tried my best to be supportive and be happy that he is working and not start screaming "I dont know how tired you are/feet hurting? I have been working full time my entire pregnancy while you have been sitting on your a$$!!!"

Just grab your mallet...and tell Dh that steak is for dinner :)

  • We know, we know. I think if our husbands had one day in our shoes they would run screaming.

My DH has always acted like he is dying from a cold. If I catch it first he tells me to suck it up. This last time I told him the same. He was upset that I was being mean! I told him  that was how he treated me therefor that is what he would get from now on. Boy how his tune changed.

  • Men are clueless wimps. My husband never gives me any extra nurturing during my pregnancies and I've forgotten to even get mad at this point (3rd pregnancy). My favorite wimpy man story is during my first pregnancy, when I had really bad morning sickness, we took a trip to NYC for fun. He got a cold and decided he couldn't leave the hotel room to do anything fun and that I had to go out and get him soup. The smells of the city got to me and I literally threw up in a garbage can on the street while bringing him soup for his cold. Men. Ridiculous.
  • I'm just waiting for my DH to come home from work after she is born to tell me he is tired. He does it now too. Its always "honey rub my back, honey rub my feet, etc" Um no. I'm 36 and a half weeks I'm not rubbing a thing.

  • When the Hubs has whined at any point during the last 9 months I've let him know I have no sympathy for him. I told him to put on his big boy panties and suck it up. He pouted for a few minutes and then apologized. Be sure to tell him how you feel!

  • You are not alone... and yes we can whine. I'm guessing your like most of us not wanting to be treated different cause your pregnant. But when it comes to your husband a little sympathy is nice. Somedays even expected. After my husband got me sick last week he had the nerve to tell me to suck it up and go to work. Regardless of running a fever... Then told me I was crabby... uhh yeah where the hell are my feet and now I have your cold... We all have our moments. I just try to picture our LO and count to 10. Hopefully by then if our partners are smart... I'm sorry is out of their mouth in those 10 seconds :)
