Those pg with #2 or more- how are you dealing with fatigue/no energy?

I'm so exhausted! I don't really feel like doing much of anything, but my 2 year old is full of energy! I feel bad that I am not as active with him, but I'm having a hard time! Any natural energy boosters that work for you? Any other tips to survive?

I'm looking forward to the fatigue passing!

  • I have no advice but I'm right there too!  Exhausted & praying it gets better!!

  • I just keep on doing what I was doing and it passes.  I have been taking naps when I can.  The worst part for me is that I get crabby when I'm tired and my kids get the brunt of that.  =(  I have zero patience for kids who don't listen to me right now.  Zero!

  • I'm still maintaining our normal routine, but I've started taking advantage of her naptime and napping myself. It eventually gets better!
  • My husband's a saint and has been waking me up with coffee every morning; once I get going, I'm busy enough that I don't have time to concentrate it, but man is it tough getting out of bed!

  • Unfortunately I don't have any advice for you.  I have just been soldiering though.  This gets difficult when DD fights her bedtime and takes an hour to go to sleep.  But, I have just been going to bed as soon as DD is asleep.  This means nothing gets done around the house, but I'll get to it eventually ;)

  • Sorry I have no advice on this.  But I did want you to know that you have some company in the no energy and energetic child who just doesn't understand "mommy wants to nap".

Sorry no paragraphs, bumping from my phone.

  • I'm lucky, in that my son still USUALLY takes two naps a day, so I can nap when he naps most of the time. But his birthday is this weekend, so I've been using at least one of the nap times to clean a room while he's out of the way and it's killing me. I can't wait until Saturday is over so I can let the house get messy again and sleep.

But I do try to go to bed early so I get more sleep at night and that helps a little bit. And I've noticed the more I play with him, the better I feel. So If I feel like I'm really dragging I lay on the floor and let him crawl on me, and that leads to tickling and crawl chasing and all that, so I get into it and I either forget the fatigue or I actually get more energy. either way I feel better.

This.  Just trying to soldier through.  My 3 1/2 year old no longer naps so I can't nap either.  But I try to go to bed as quickly as I can at night and I hate to admit it but we've been watching a lot of TV in our house lately.

  • God, I'm not handling it. DS is still nowhere near sleeping through the night apparently. He was doing good, but not anymore. He finally went to bed at 1 and was back up at 5:30 the past 3 days. Then he eats and goes back to sleep for maybe an hour and tosses, kicks, turns, etc. until I finally give in and get up. It's horrible. I was so frustrated today when he wouldn't nap that I had to just put him in his crib fussing and walk away to cry.

  • I usually go up to bed around 8:30! My youngest wakes up at 5:00-5:30, so that way I can get about 8 hours. And coffee--I have two cups per day. It ain't pretty, but it's my truth... ;)

  • Like other people have said, go to bed early when you can and nap when you can. I also find that cold water or lemonade and oranges help wake me up a bit for awhile. I haven't hit the worst of the fatigue, though, I'm sure.

This, except I can't seem to go to bed earlier than 11! My kids are usually up around 7 though, so it could be worse. Luckily they both nap around the same time, so I nap when they nap if I need to!

  • I have started to feel the fatigue kicking in, but luckily it hasnt been to bad. I have two boys. My oldest I have to get up and ready for school and my youngest is with me all day. Its gonna be hard, especially once the morning sickness kicks in, but I will take it one day at a time.
