It's our second favorite choice...the one I kind of want to go with if we have a girl. However, I like the original spelling of "Eisele." I had my mom ask around her office today if anyone liked/disliked it so I could try and make my mind up, and most everyone said it sounded too 'ethnic.' I have no clue what that means, as it does not sound hispanic or african-american or caucasian or anything else to me...it just sounds like a universal name. I personally think is a pretty, modern name and I have never heard anyone with it.
What are your thoughts on it?
Re: Eisley?
I've never heard of this name before...which is probably what your mom's co-workers meant by ethnic, instead they probably meant unique or uncommon.
It's a pretty name. However, I will warn you, that as someone with a very unusual name myself, it may be difficult for her during her school years. I had lots of teachers and classmates mispronounce my name constantly. As a child it was confusing and frustrating to correct them. On the other hand, I get lots of compliments once people understand how to say my name.
My thoughts exactly.
Yes
I had never heard this as a first name before, I do think it's pretty. If I saw Eisley I would say eyes-lee, but if I saw Eisele I would probably have said "e-sell." I still think that spelling is prettier, though.
What about Eislee?
DD #1: 2012; MMC: 2014; DD #2: 2015; It's a boy! 3/31/2018
All of this. To this day, I have to really listen to how someone might say my name at the doctor's office, in case I don't realize it's me. When I am at a restaurant where they call your name when your food is up, I make up a common name so I don't have to worry about it. My name actually has all the same letters as Eisley except the i, and in a different order. Somehow people just miss an entire letter or flip them around in a different order, or omit letters altogether. But like the person above mentioned, once people know how it's pronounced, I get compliments.
This happens to me too. My name is Mariah, and I always get calls asking for Marian or Maria or Miranda. And at restaurants, it's always Miranda or Mary-eye...so weird. I didn't mind dealing with it because like you and the PP, once they know how to say my name I also get compliments
Which I'm sure if people mispronounce Eisley, they will compliment it once they hear the correct pronunciation
At least, I hope so! Haha
I don't like it, sorry. It sounds like you took two sounds "eyes" and "lee" and just smooshed them together.
What about Isla or Ilsa?
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
Not my style
I didn't know there was a band called Eisley
I found the name in a baby book at Barnes & Noble the other day and fell in love with it.
Ugh, I feel like every name I find has some flaw that I hate.
