Motherhood outlet question

For those who have gone.. how was it? It would be a 40 minute drive for me, is it worth it?

Re: Motherhood outlet question

  • Honestly the prices looked the same on most items. There were some discounted Pea in the Pod and more expensive brands on the clearance rack. I didn't buy anything that day...we were just passing through the town.

For me the outlet wasn't any different from the regular store--same styles, same high prices even on the sales rack. But--I don't like paying more than $25 for a shirt.

  • Honestly, Motherhood is the only store I could find clothes at. We drove an our down to the big city near us and went everywhere. Target/Kohls/JCpenney/Macys...I got so discouraged. Motherhood may be a little pricey, but it's the same as any regular jeans or top you'd get. about $30 an item.

Edit : If you have an actual STORE near you, I wouldn't drive the 40 minutes to go to the outlet. They are pretty much the same imho.

  • Meh. If that's the only reason you're driving 40 minutes, I wouldn't.

I wasn't impressed. They had a lot of the same clothes as the regular MH store. The stuff they did have on sale that was different was as-is, final sale merchandise. Most of it was comprised of irregular merchandise they can't sell in regular MH stores and really out of season clothing. One thing I will say is that I was able to get a nice dress winter coat for about 75% off the retail price. That was about it, though.

  • I thought most of the stuff there was still kind of pricey. I also have a hard time finding things there that fit me properly (the shirts tend to be too wide through the shoulders, the pants never sit quite right) so I've just given up shopping there.

Not sure if this fits your style or not....but Old Navy seems to have knocked a few pennies off their maternity line....

  • The outlet is the same as the regular store (maybe a few more clearance items). Not worth the 40 min drive IMO.

I've had the same experience.. I don't really like anything at any other store and I'm so tiny that I don't fit into any pants other than at Motherhood. I've bought a lot of stuff from the regular Motherhood but was curious if they a bunch of highly discounted stuff at the outlet but sounds like it would be a waste. Thanks!!

  • Not worth IMO. Prices were almost the same as in the regular store and they did not have any good sales going on at all.

I've had the same experience. Generally, just regularly priced clothes and a few extra clearance items.

  • Motherhood was the ONLY place I had any luck at.  Other than the MM section at Macys, which is the same thing.  Their clothes did not look frumpy, I found everything I needed in my size, and I only had to go to one place to do all my shopping, which was a major plus.

I did try the Goodwill and 2 resale shops in my area, but the clothes were absolutely terrible.

  • I agree with most people, it's just ok. They actually had a lot of the newer things that are in the regular stores. I saw more clearance, but the prices for me weren't even that much of a reduction.
