Anyone been to a BRU class?

I'm going to a breastfeeding class offered by BRU tonight. I took the one offered by our hospital, which I found short but informative. I kind of figured I would take this one too, it's free, and more information can't "hurt" I suppose.

Has anyone taken any classes taught by them? Are they any good?

  • no, and I wouldn't waste my time.

Most of their classes are taught by employees or representatives of the company sponsoring the event. Many times the information is either inaccurately portrayed or flat out wrong.

I know a few of us car seat techs have offered to teach the car seat safety class more than once, for free, and they turned us down. Most likely because they're giant sales pitches for the store, and they know we would be honest about the dangers and illegality of many of the after market products they want to sell.

Yeah, this is what I kind of expected. Maybe they can at least help with things I need for my pump? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to that lol.

I haven't heard anything about the breastfeeding class. But a friend did the child safety one, and a couple of techs have checked out the car seat because after they turned us down (including the offer of a free clinic/seat check after the talk), they were curious about them...
