I've been told you can stop burping between 4-9 months or when LO is sitting unassisted. She never burps for us anymore but she doesn't sit on her own (really at all, maybe a few seconds but it isn't consistent.)
Sort of. She usually will burp on her own but if I think she is acting like she needs to (i.e. drank less than normal) then I'll sit her on my lap and rub her back for a minute or two.
Same. He started sitting unassisted at 5 months but I think we stopped burping even before that.
Exactly this. Around 4.5 months, DD started letting out big burps when she shifted in my lap after eating, so I started to just let her burp on her own. She rarely burps these days.
I always burp him because if I don't then he ends up with a belly ache plus he has reflux so I noticed if he doens't burp well he sptis up more so I think burping is good.
