XP- Update to friend's baby

Things are not going as planned. Hailey was supposed to come off the ventilator today, but instead they found some scar tissue in her throat, either from her acid reflux or the infection, and she is going into surgery to get a tracheotomy tube in her throat tomorrow. Tiny silver lining is that my friend will be able to hold her baby again, since she hasn't since last Wednesday. But she will have a scar, they still don't have an answer for what exactly is wrong and how they are going to fix it, and the trach is a more permanent situation. They are now talking about her stay in terms of weeks or maybe months. I'm going to see her again on Wednesday, as their hospital is an hour away and with two little ones who can't go with me, it's hard to be there for her. Please keep praying for and thinking of them.

Darn...I was really hoping this would be a much different update. I really hate it for your friend and her LO and I will continue to keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
