IVF BFN follow up with RE today...

Hi Ladies, so I have my follow up with RE today after IVF #1 failed. These are the questions I plan to ask, please let me know if you can think of anything else....also a little background, we are unexplained and had 2 grade A 8 cell embies tranferred on day 3, with 12 frosties....

1) What went wrong, 2) Why not a 5dt?, 3)For FET can we do 5dt with 3 embies instead of 2?, 4) How many would we unfreeze for FET?, 5) Should we do assisted hatching? 6) Timing for FET, dont want to rush into it., 7) Blood Tests? Lupus, Beta Integrin, ANA, MTHFR? 8) Is there a need for a lap or a endometrial biopsy?

TTCing since 2008 Unexplained 3 - IUI's all BFN's IVF#1 July, 2 grade A, 8 cell embies put back, 12 frosties. BFN FET #1 10/30, beta #1 on 11/11/11-352!!!BFP!! Beta #2-1152 image

    Just from someone who's been there ... they will likely not have an answer to the "what went wrong" part ... at least they didn't for me.  I would definitely ask about a 5dt ... when did they freeze your embies?  On day 3 or day 5?  If on day 3 you might ask if they can grow them out to day 5 and then transfer.  In my case they transferred on day 3 (for IVF #2) and then froze on day 5.

    Also, my clinic/lab will not do assisted hatching on day 5 embryos, only day 3.

    I would also ask about the quality of your frozen. 

    In my experience, you don't get a lot out of the WTF appointments, besides a plan for the next cycle.

    I don't have anything to add to your questions, but just wanted to say good luck! I hope you get some good information out of your appointment.
    TTC since September 2010
    March 2011: Diagnosed with PCOS
    First cycle 3/11: 50mg Clomid = No response
    Second cycle 4/11: 100mg Clomid = No response
    Third cycle 5/11: 2.5mg Femara + 150IU FSH CD7 and 8 = Follies, but BFN
    Fourth cycle 6/11: Femara + FSH again = Follies, but no ovulation and another BFN :(
    Fifth cycle 7/11: Femara + FSH again = Wait and see!

    What's going on kalichick? When are you having another ultrasound? Maybe a heartbeat? How awful not to have a definite yes or no answer. I'm so sorry.
