We waited out DDs blood culture and it was all negative, so yay we are at home!
I'm literally not going to say one complainy thing, only positive.
--We were only there for 48 hours and all tests were negative
--The only nurses who knew my daughter's name were the nurses assigned to her. As in, there were children on the ward that all of the nurses knew their name.
--The worst thing we had to witness was IVs
--Because she was in isolation, we had a private, single room where my husband and I could both stay
--The hospital was a 10 minute walk so DH went home and got clothes for me and DD, nursing pads, snacks, etc.
--The hospital was very pro-breastfeeding and treated me like a patient; brought me a pump and supplies immediately, as well as made sure I was served three meals and had all the water I could drink.
I'm just saying, after seeing kids who had been there for months, and kids who were on a first name basis with the whole staff, and kids who did not have a time frame to go home like we did, ugh I will never complain.
Happy to have my healthy, happy baby at home!
Re: update: DD discharged and we are home!
great news!
home sweet home.
How scary but glad she's okay & you're home now! And it's encouraging to hear the hospital provided you with BFing support
Was it just a "fever virus" to make her temp high so quickly?
