We went for our six month check up this morning. I asked about third meals, meat, and finger foods like puffs, mum mums, etc. We have also had zero problems with purees and no allergies. We got the okay from her to add lunch as a third meal. She said to wait closer to 7 months for meat and finger foods. Just curious how many other pedis out there have this opinion too? I'm going to follow her advice because I feel no need to rush, but just interested to see what others have said. She is usually on the progressive side.
Re: If you started solids at 4 months...
In canada they prefer you wait till 6mths to start anything but saying that my doctor gave us the ok at 4mths to start slow. DD is now 7mths and we have her on 3 meals a day plus snacks. (they would like three meals by 8mths and then start adding snacks) She has the odd finger food (puffs, carrots, watermelon, cantalope) and we have started her on pureed meats as well
It seems 7mths for finger foods are the average that I am seeing but have seen a few that say wait till 9+
