So proud to VBAC - birth story xp from July 2011

Eva Margaret Birth Story (VBAC) and PIP!It started out as a great way my 41st week. I had my membranes stripped for the 3rd time on August 2nd and I was about 2.5cm (stretched). I was then over in L&D on Wednesday due to contractions that were crazy intense. I was sent home after just an hour or two. Friday came and I was scheduled for an augmentation to get things going. I started the smallest amount of pitocin at 9:30am (I started at 3cm and 85%). By 11am I was ready for my epidural. I got that and things were good. By 1pm I was almost 5cm and my OB broken my water. She came back around 4pm and I was 8cm and 100%!! We both were soooo excited. I never made it past 4cm with my son, which resulted in the c-section. I was so relaxed during the whole thing and I think that helped. I knew I was doing what I could and had no control over the outcome. By 5/515ish I was 10cm and ready to go. My epi was wearing off in this "window" area right by my left groin, but it was okay. I started pushing at 545pm and less than 40 minutes later Eva Margaret was born! 7lbs 15.4oz 19.5inches!It was amazing!!!! They put her right on me and it was just so moving. With the section they weren't able to do that. It was just so incredible. I was so proud that I was able to VBAC and that I choose to do it. I recommend it to those that are able to. It was just beyond words.Things are healing nicely. I had a small tear which was expected but nothing else.Eva is doing great with nursing as my supply came in LARGE and early. I think this was due that I only stopped nursing DS in April. Loving life right now, minus not sleeping at all and getting used to a newborn again. Coming come after 48hrs is much different than 5 days!image
