Babies: 3 - 6 Months

You know you're passive aggressive when...

you intentionally put a pacifier in your DD mouth when your IL's are around just because you know how much they hate "those damn plugs."

[Back story - MIL is super bitchy about us giving DD a pacifier at all, just another one of her reasons for considering me a weak, inadequate and inferior mother.]

I might convince DD to use it just when they're around until she's 12 just to piss them off. Hahaha!

Re: You know you're passive aggressive when...

  • Tell them that pediatricians now recommend pacifiers as a SIDS deteriant.  It's true.  And don't worry, I always make sure I have to breastfeed at ILs since it makes them "uncomfortable."

  • Nice! Will do. I love your idea BTW ... I think I might whip out the girls and start pumping at the dinner table. Although that might be taking it a tad far

  • Now I'm picturing their faces... with the keeerrshhh shuuuushhhh keeerrrshhh shuuushhh. "Oh that... yeah it's a Pump in Style."

  • lol I'm not for passive aggressiveness, but can totally understand it when it comes to ILs. The way I see it, a baby is going to suck on something. I would prefer a pacifier to the thumb, since it doesn't mean expensive dental work years later. :S
  • We were at a family gathering a few weeks ago. DH's grandmother walked in the door, came over to me (I had DD) and actually took DD's paci out of her mouth and said, "Let's take this silly thing out of your mouth. You don't need that!" DD looked at her and started screaming. I took it back from her and said, "It's fine for her to have it."

    So yeah, I understand!

  • Mine are obsessed with pushing his hair to the side. So as soon as I pick him up, I say "Buddy, I have to make your hair look pretty again" and then brush it back the way I want it.
