Playgroups?
I'm new to this site.
I have been living in New Orleans my whole life, actually in the River Ridge/harahan areas. I am a young mother of an almost 3 yr old and a 6 month old, looking for free playgroups and to make playdates for my little ones and to get other mommy friends for me 
. If anyone is interested just let me know

Hi! I'm in harahan. I work FT, but if you are free on weekends, maybe we could meet up? I don't know of any officiall playgroups or anything. Email me.

Check meetup.com. The Hip Mamas & Papas group is free to join. I have only been to one of their meetups just because my schedule doesn't mesh well with the activities. But they seem really nice.
I am also a member of The Parenting Center (Uptown and in Metairie) and so far I really like it. It's not free, but it's worth it to get the kids out of the house! (I have an almost 2 year old and a four month old.) DD1 loves it everytime we go. It's been worth it to drive from our home in Kenner to Uptown.
