Fever at week 9 of pregnancy

The past three nights I have experienced a fever in the low 99's (99.4ish), and at some point shortly thereafter I throw up (that's when I suspect that my fever begins to go down).  I take a tylenol to help reduce the fever as well.

I have no fever the rest of the day, just at night when I come home from work.  I have been having morning sickness pretty much every other day in the mornings and rarely throughout the day or night, but it's beginning to become a daily thing.

Yes, I will be calling the doctor, but I was just interessted to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this.  I have had a cold/congestions for a few weeks, and maybe that just means I need to amp up the cold care to meds.

 Any thoughts?

Thanks!

  • You need to talk to your doc BEFORE you take the meds.  There isn't much you can take.

  • Tylenol  is fairly safe, as long as you limit the amount.  Ditto pp that this isn't something I'd take advice from well-meaning but possibly misinformed internet strangers.  I'd call the doctor.

  • Honestly I wouldn't really consider that a fever. It's really low and not dangerous for the baby. I'd just take Tylenol if you're uncomfortable. Don't take other cold meds. Also I think you can heat up a little with pregnancy so it might just be that. Still call your doc in the morning to be sure. Feel better!

  • I never had a fever, but I've been hot all.the.time during this pregnancy.  So, pregnancy alone can heat you up, as Jill mentioned.   I agree with the others about not taking anything more than Tylenol before you talk to your Dr, just in case.

  • Well, I just wanted to update this post and those of you who responded that I'm doing just fine and the mw was not concerned about the low grade fevers.  They eventually stopped after about a week.  I'm now 36 weeks and everything is going well.

I would have responded sooner, but gave up after not being able to find where my blog  post went after posting.  I somehow stumbled across it today, go figure!  Guess I'm just not the blogging type, haha.

Thank you for all who posted!
