Re: Monday check-in
1. Pretty good.
2. Highlight- Celebrated Dh's parent's anniversary. Helped Dh build some shelves. Lowlight- Nothing comes to mind.
3. I've never been to Buy Buy Baby before, but I hear awesome things, so I'm planning to go there on Wed. Also, I was eyeing the Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy backpack when it was on sale online, but didn't buy since I want to see it in person first, so I'm planning to go check those out- it said online they carry them at several stores in the area.
4. Feeling motivated by the show Extreme Couponing (and the fact I stopped working in April), I started clipping coupons from the paper and online a few months ago. I'm not crazy or anything and don't plan my shopping trips around coupons. I just buy what we normally buy and if I have a coupon, then great. I usually save $4-$10 a week on groceries, which I figure is better than nothing. As far as online shopping or clothes shopping, I'm always looking to use a coupon if possible.

1. Yep, still sleep deprived. Wish Connor would sleep for more than 2 hours at a time.
2. Highlight: I have several! Date night on Friday started off at Tastings (wine), then 14 West for dinner, then Nicky Blaines to top things off. We went to the State Fair on Saturday and had a great time. Jocelyn loved the animals. The My Morning Jacket concert last night at the Lawn was a great way to finish the weekend.
Lowlight: Called the vet to make an appointment to talk about Marley
3. I have a meeting today to discuss some research opportunities that I'm anxious to get started on.
4. I use coupons that come in the mail, but that's about it. I try to only shop at places like BRU, BBB, Gymboree, etc. when I have coupons. So mostly stuff like diapers and other kids stuff.
1. I feel so-so. I have fibromyalgia and some days are better than others, especially since I have been preggers this time.
2. Highlight: Spending time with our kids is always a good time! Also, celebrated my mom's birthday with her on Sunday which was nice. Lowlight: The fibromyalgia really acted up this weekend, it's hard to get comfortable and hard to sleep as well.
3. So looking forward to my 19 1/2 week ultrasound on Thursday!!! If the baby's not shy we should find out the sex!
4. I do use coupons at the grocery as well as coupons for other stores like Kohl's, JCPenney, etc. I also am not a crazy coupon clipper but if I have a coupon for an item I need or know I can print one from the internet, I do. Two of my favorite sites for coupons are mommysavesbig.com and mommysavers.com. Some places I never shop at without a coupon are Michaels, Joann Fabric, etc. Each week they have a printable coupon, so I find it, print it, and use it!
1. First of all I have been really bad about posting/keeping up with this board, sorry! But all is well with me, DH and DS.
2. DS turned 1 on Thursday! We had party # 2 on Saturday and it turned out great! He is totally spoiled and got tons of toys, clothes and lots of money for his savings account. I feel so happy and blessed for him to have received all the things he did, I honestly cant think of anything else that he could want or need! The only lowlight for me was staying up late to clean house from all the party stuff but it was worth it.
3. what are you looking forward to this week? This weekend is supposed to be really nice, not to hot. We might take DS to the State Fair or just hang out and relax with no plans!
4. do you use coupons? how often? what for? any good tips/strategies to share? I try to use them as much as possible. I will still buy whatever we need and if I have a coupon then thats great. I usually will not buy a different brand then I normally would just because I have a coupon. I clip them from the paper, get some online, and in the mail from Kroger. If I shop online I always search for a coupon code.
2. weekend highlight? My highlights are all food-related: Bub's Cafe, Cooper's Hawk, and a fabulous grilled pork tenderloin last night. lowlight? Shopping for maternity clothes and deciding they are all ugly, expect the $185 Citizens jeans that I need.
3. what are you looking forward to this week? Friday :-) I have a big presentation and work on Thursday, and I really want to get it over with!
4. do you use coupons? how often? what for? any good tips/strategies to share? I love coupons, especially for restaurants and clothes. I rarely use grocery store coupons, mostly because I don't buy all the processed junk that they have coupons for. I love ebates, and always do a google search for coupons before making any purchases.
1. how are you feeling? - Really well, except for acid reflux. 22.5 weeks along.
2. Weekend highlight? - My friend Jen came to visit! I took her to President Benjamin Harrison's Home and to Symphony on the Prairie, and we ate a lot of cupcakes.
2.1. Weekend Lowlight? - Family drama over my grandmother's estate. Relatives are being horribly ugly and laywers may have to get involved.
3. What are you looking forward to this week? - Cooler temperatures
4. Do you use coupons? how often? what for? any good tips/strategies to share? - Not really. We don't get the newspaper and I am too lazy to print any off. I look for sales, buy some generic products and use rewards cards.
1. Pretty good. I'd like some chocolate right now - I'm sure it'd bump my "pretty good" up to a "great."
2. Highlight: Finally getting some stuff in the house organized/put away. It's been put on the back burner since DD was born and it felt good to make things look nicer. Also, getting good Ethiopian food for dinner on Saturday. Lowlight: I can't think of anything.
3. My dad is coming into town on Thursday. It will be great to see him!
4. Like pp said, I don't eat a lot of processed food so most newspaper coupons aren't very useful to me. I use formula checks when I can get them and go directly to manufacturer's website for the almond milk I drink to get coupons. Other than that, I try to buy staples at Trader Joe's where they are cheaper so I don't need coupons.
1. 32 weeks, 6 days pregnant and feeling good, but tired. I need to start spending some time at night with my feet up, but there's just always too much to do!
2. Highlight: having a yummy lunch with DH yesterday after church. Lowlight: I guess I would just have to go with how busy it was with annoying things. The movers were at our house until 11:30 Friday night, we had an all day child birth class on Saturday, and my inlaws were in our driveway 5 minutes after we got home that afternoon. Follow that up with 6 hours of being pelted with questions from my mother-in-law, and you've got yourself a pretty awesome weekend.
3. Not a whole lot. We cancelled our trip to Indiana for Thursday, so now I'm totally free. I'm going to distract myself with a whole list of baby related stuff, which should be fun.
4. I love clothes and restaurant coupons. I haven't paid full price for anything at Macy's, Banana, the Gap, etc for a long time because there's always some deal or coupon running. Do you use Restaurant.com? There are sometimes some good places on there. You should also get a Zoobook - tons of great restaurant coupons for $25 (I think). It doesn't take long to get your money back. When I shop online, I use Ebates and always Google to see if there's a coupon code before I checkout. I use grocery coupons for things like bread, peanut butter, etc., but for the most part the bulk of our groceries is produce so that's not a big help.
