let the "chandler regional sucks" posts begin..... i on the other hand had a WONDERFUL experience at Chandler Regional. I guess most people complain about the rooms being small, but it didn't bother me at all. It's not a "boutique" hospital I guess, but it worked for me.
I delivered at CR and had a great experience. The recovery rooms ARE small but comfortable and worked out well for us. The nurses and staff made it a really pleasant experience and as PP said, they have a great NICU.
I vote suck. I would do everything in my power to go to a Banner run hospital. Yes, the hospital is crappy, but I am more concerned with the level of service I have received there and friends have gotten. Banner Desert has a way better NICU anyway. I have had one there and it is a level 3. The only thing they dont have is ECMO
I delivered 3 of my 4 boys there and I loved it! I had some rough deliveries and th enurses made it a much better experience. I dont have a bad thing to say about the place Oh, and even though I live about 35-40 minutes away now, i'll most likely be delivering there again.
They have a NICU now? That's really good news!! I delevered 3 of my 4 boys there and one of them was airevaced to desert because they did not have a nicu at the time. My husband and I are trying to decide if we can deliver at Chandler again or at a hospital with an equipped nicu. Thanks for the info
I have heard good things lately about CRH regarding the nurses, care, and facility...however they do not have a well-baby nursery, so if you are looking to send the baby to the nursery for a good night's sleep, or even a nap, you'll have to go to a Banner facility.
I actually switched OB's to deliver at Mercy Gilbert, but when I found out about the no-nursery thing, we are going back to Banner Desert...small rooms and all!
I LOVE this hospital, and will never have a baby anywhere else (God-willing). Everyone from Labor & Delivery to Postpartum treated me as though I was the only person in the world delivering a baby. It was such a great experience, I can't wait to have our next baby there in a couple of months.
My son spend over 2 months in the NICU, and the Postpartum nurses would go in and check on him. When they saw me in the hallways, they would give me their opinions on his progress. It was really nice to know that people were looking out for him when I was not there.
Haven't heard great things about Banner, specifically that they treat you like cattle and that they deliver so many babies that it's "no big deal" to them. Yes, the postpartum rooms are small at Chandler, but who cares? The Labor rooms are HUGE and you are only in postpartum for a short time anyway.
I just took a tour and they said that everyone complained about the small recovery rooms so now when you recover you stay in the same room you delivered in which I have to say is huge. I was really impressed with the size of the room. No they dont put your baby in a nursery baby stays in the same room with mom the entire time. I actually prefer that.
