Am I being a big baby?

DH is going to Powell for a guys trip the middle of September for a week (his yearly get away).  One of our close friends are staying the following week on a houseboat with the family.  So DH would stay and I would drive with his wife and kids to Powell and drive home with DH.  We wouldn't stay the whole week, but probably 3-4 days/nights. 

My hiccup?  DD.  I'm not sure I'm ready to leave her overnight for that long.  She would stay with my parents so I'm okay with that but being gone from her that long and with no cell service.  DH really wants to go and yes it sounds fun but....

Am I being a big baby?  Should I put on my big girl pants?  WWYD?

And taking her is not an option.  We'll be on a house boat in the middle of the lake in hot weather.

    No, you're not being a baby. There's no "right" time to leave your baby for the first time overnight. If you don't feel ready, you don't feel ready.

    We have to leave DD in December for a wedding. I'm already upset about it.

    Not a baby. I totally understand. I am dreading leaving DS with MIL Thursday for an hour so I can go to the dentist. I can't imagine leaving him with anyone other than DH for that long. It's so weird because I like to get out and have time to myself, and I have left him with DH for several hours at a time (when I had to go set up my classroom for my sub)...but anyone other than DH I just don't want to do. I know my MIL will be more than fine with him, or my SIL, or whoever, but I can't let go!!! Ahhhh!

    I wouldn't go if it were me. The no cell service is the deal-breaker for me.

    You aren't being a baby at all. Sounds like you will just have to do what you most feel comfortable doing. There is no right time to leave your DD until you are ready. I currently have a dinner celebration to go to in a couple weeks, even though it's only a few hours, I still feel unsure of how I feel about leaving her just yet.

    That's what I told DH and he said he was thinking about renting a satellite phone for the two weeks to call home.  Not sure he knows how much the bill would be because I would probably be on it several times a day.  Stick out tongue

    I would not apologize for your feelings, either. You have to do what it comfortable for you and right for your family.

    Not being a baby at all. I could see one...maybe two days, but I couldn't do 3 or 4 days yet.

    I definitely couldn't do that, especially without phone service. If you're not comfortable with it then you won't enjoy yourself. 

    DH went out for dinner and a movie this weekend for the first time and I couldn't believe how much I was missing my little man.

    The only thing that would stop me is the cell phone service.
