Small Car owners, which car seat are you using?

DS is about to hit the limit on his infant car seat.  I'm looking at getting him a new one today but just about every review I read says that "This car seat is only good if you have an SUV because it is so big"

Which car seat are you successfully using in a car?

  • DH has a Prius and we just got a second car seat for it. It's a Britax Roundabout Classic, and it fits well. It's definitely slimmer than the Marathon (which we have in my car). I think any convertible is probably going to be a snug fit in the rear-facing position, but it seems to work well.

also there is the Combi https://www.amazon.com/Combi-Cocorro-Lightweight-Convertible-Licorice/dp/B00261RQYY

These are the only two I was able to find for my small car. Everything else was too big.

  • I think I need a new car.  I bought the Britax Boulevard CS at the FAO sale last year and there's no way it's going to fit in my car.  I have an Infiniti G20 and the infant seat barely fits in there.  Right now I don't have the passenger seat moved all the way up, but I know I will have to with the convertible seat. :(

I'd buy a smaller convertible car seat, but I don't think that's a great solution because he'd grow out of it sooner and I'd have to buy another one anyway.  Right?

I used to be a big deal.  Now I'm just old.

I have a camry and this is what is in my car.  ITA that just about any convertible is going to be snug in the rear facing position.  :(  Luckily, I don't have people in my passenger seat all that often.

  • I'm going to take a look at the Britax Roundabout Classic..  Our car isn't super small, we drive a Ford Focus so I'm hoping that the Britax one will fit.
The other two smaller seats are probably not going to work with Ari, he is already 23 lbs I also know that I can get Britax Carseats but I haven't seen any Maxi Cosi or Combi seats here in Vancovuer.  I'm going to go out with my sister today to find one that fits.

  • we just got the evenflo momentum 65, and it fits alright in our Prius. i think all the seats are gonna be a little snug because they are pretty big, but this one got the best pick by consumer reports and the reviews on amazon were very favorable.
