Someone on my month board said her dh felt the baby kick, she is 17 weeks. I have not felt anything at all, not even a flutter. How can pregnancies be so different?
No outside kicks for me yet, but I started feeling the baby during week 16. My doctor asked me last week as soon as he found the heartbeat on the doppler if I was feeling the baby yet because he could tell that baby is sitting right near the top, just under my belly. He said feeling the baby this early is definitely not the average and it all depends on exactly where the baby is positioned.
You'll be feeling the baby soon, I'm sure and he or she is probably just cozy down in there for now!
After TTC with IR PCOS:
April 2011: Metformin 1500mg + Clomid 100mg + Ovidrel + Prometrium = BFP!
Beta #1 at 14DPO: 197 Beta #2 at 18DPO: 1296
At 40w6d, our Team Green surprise came by unplanned C-section and changed our lives forever!
I know, right? This happened on my bmb too but I think a lot of the girls who THOUGHT they were feeling movement were actually feeling gas bubbles or just normal intestinal movement.

I know! I'm 23 weeks with twins and I still haven't felt much of anything! Sometimes I can feel that their weight is distributed somewhere new--like when they are hanging out much lower, but for the most part, I can't feel anything.
I know...it is crazy how different pregnancies can be. But so much depends on your body, where the baby is, and where the placenta is. Her experience sounds like a rare one for a first time pregnancy to me.
Brought to you by IVF, ICSI, limited fert, and oocyte cryopreservation. Because we're fancy like that.
I was feeling little flutters around 16-17 weeks, but the outside kicks did not start until around 23 weeks. Everyone is different! Now, one of my favorite things to do at night is lift my shirt and watch my belly move. It's wild! And I've been told it is just going to increase...I love it!
I felt flutters very early (but only when my pants were too tight! LOL!), however I just started to feel kicks at almost 23 weeks. I was worried that it took so long but now that it has started I feel it frequently. Hang in there!! You will feel them soon!
I didn't feel anything until 19w and even then I wasn't sure that's what I had felt. I was surprised when DH was able to feel movement himself just a week or two later! I didn't think that would happen for awhile. It really does seem to be such a huge variance between people/pregnancies.

Because no two babies and moms are the same and there are dozens of variables at play... I've been feeling flutters for weeks, which has been attributed to the fact that I have two big and very active babies that I'm carrying very closely (I don't have a big bump), where their placentas are, my body type, among other things.
TTK 9/06 / TTC 10/08 / Twins 12/11 / Life Blog 5 REs + 3 surgical hysteroscopies for septum/lap + 3 failed IUIs IVF w/ICSI/AH & acu = BFP!, unexplained spontaneous m/c @ 8w2d (our little girl), FET w/acu = BFP!, B/G twins!, lost MP @19w, dx w/funneling cervix @20w, twins nearly lost to IC @21w, saved by rescue cerclage, 17P & 16w of bedrest Our twins born @36w4d via CS when A came foot first
It seems very random. I wouldn't even begin to worry until after the 20 week mark. At my u/s last week the tech said "those babies must be killing you I can't believe how much they are kicking" and I wasn't feeling a thing at that moment.

I started feeling little movement at 18 weeks and then realized it was definitely the baby at 19 weeks. But it is very sporatic. I have not felt any outside kicks yet and all the girls on my bmb seem to have. Everything I have read though says that everyone is different and movement can be felt as early as week 14 to week 26.

I didn't feel babies move for a looooong time and I was getting concerned. I have one anterior and one posterior placenta and I got a random kick at like 16 weeks but didn't feel consistent movement until like 22 weeks? I felt totally behind the curve but now feel movement every day. Don't let it get you down!
After 2 losses, IVF #2 brought us our little boys.
Now we're waiting on our miracle baby ... a little GIRL!!!
