My poor mother! :(

My mom and dad babysit Giuliana anytime DH and I want to go to dinner or a movie. She cries the entire time after we walk out the door and refuses bottles. She basically cries herself to sleep and my mom is AMAZING with babies, tries every trick in the book. I think DD is just sad that we are gone.

But now everytime my mom comes over to visit, if she picks Giuliana up, she starts crying like crazy if I'm not standing right where she can see me. I feel so guilty that Grandma is getting all these tears and I know she understands, but I honestly think G associates my mom with me leaving! It seems crazy that she could even figure that out this early, but that must be it. Poor Grandma! :(

    We have a similar situation with my MIL! My DD cries almost everytime MIL holds her! She's never babysat her so it's not that she associates her with us leaving. MIL keeps kids during the day and kids LOVE her but for some reason, DD does not. :( I feel bad but I have no idea why she does it! She won't even smile really good for her and she smiles ALL of the time for everyone!

    This happens to my grandma!  Unforturnately, she takes it really personally and says, oh its me the baby hates me.  =(  She babysits every Tuesday night for 2 hours- I feel so bad!

    This exactly! My mom takes it personally and I wish there was something I could do to make DD better with her.
