Two Under 2

After almost 3.5 years...

I am neither pregnant or nursing. Its bittersweet. I got pregnant at the end of March 2008 with DS and nursed him until 13 months, I was 18 wks pregnant with DD when we stopped, and then I nursed her until 2 days ago.  Its nice to know I (&Dh) have my boobs back for a bit ;) But it wont last long since we are TTC when he gets home next week. I am sad, but I know soon I will have another baby again and I will have a new nursing partner in crime ;)

  • Good for you for going so long with both kids! I've never breastfed, but I know that after this baby I'm SO looking forward to having my body back. I'm not a big drinker, but everytime I'm pregnant I crave beer. I'm really excited for the holidays this year because there will be plenty of people around to look after my kids while I enjoy a drink or two.

DH and I will be celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary in October. Out of 4 years, I've been pregnant for about 50% of that time.

  • Good for you, I hated breastfeeding and it didn't work very well into my lifestyle so I quit.  Big Smile

  • This was me too! I got pregnant with DS in Feb 2008, nursed him until shortly after I got pregnant with DD. I nursed DD until just before 18 months...and now I'm pregnant with #3!! Not much of a break :)

  • That's awesome!  Congratulations.

I just weaned my son last week.  It had been 2 years and 10 months for me (being pregnant or nursing).  It feels SO GOOD to sleep on my stomach without a bra on.  haha.

No more TTC for us. We are done, and at peace, as a family of 4.

  • Yay for you!  That was me last month.  Got pregnant with DS in Jan 2008 and was either preg or nursing or both until last month.  I feel FREE!  It is really nice.  And my DD was a wicked nurser.  I hated it the last 3-4 months because she was so brutal.

  • Congratulations!  Big accomplishment!  I nursed both of mine until about 10m-- I LOVE having my small bbs back!  The only downside is now I remember how much I hate bra shopping.

And congrats on TTC again!  You are one brave mama!  :)

  • You go Mommy!  DD just weaned about 1 1/2 weeks ago at 10 months.  (Pretty sure both of my kids did it at 10 months because of pregnancy hormones making the milk taste different - oh well Embarrassed)  SO great that you made it to a year!  I was trying for a year both times but the babies (and my uterus?) had other plans...

Good luck TTC #2 and enjoy the break while it lasts.  I've been pregnant and breastfeeding or both since Sept 2008.  Even when you're proud to have done those things the freedom you enjoy while NOT doing them is pretty nice!

  • Way to go! I've been pregnant or nursing (or both!) for 2.5 years and I still have another year and a half before weaning DD2...4 years a long time to share your body. Hopefully I'll have a bit of a break before #3 comes along. :)

  • Congrats!  I've been PG or nursing since June of 2007.  I don't think I will remember what it's like to have my body be my own once Beaker weans.

  • This should be me!  I'm glad that you had a good experience with it.

I am still BFing DS but I'm not sure how much longer it is going to be between my supply and his interest.  Then, I'll have this one in March and hopefully be breastfeeding for at least a year after that.  We hope to have another kid around when #2 turns 2, so I could still be on a BFing/pregnant roll.

I am really excited that I could go 3+ years without a period since I never got it before getting pregnant again.  I like hearing the reactions of the nurses at my OB's office when they ask for my LMP.
