Halloween family costume ideas ???

We love dressing up as family for halloween. Last year my DH and I were scarecrows and our DS was a pumpkin. I was thinking this year I would be princess peach, DS could be Mario and DH could be Luigi. DH think DS should be Toad, but I thought it would be cute it they matched. What are your thoughts on that OR do you have any other family costume suggestions. THANKS!

Also I forgot to add another idea was DS be the cat in the hat and DH and I would be thing 1 and thing 2.

Last year, DS was Bam Bam and DH& I were Barney and Betty Rubble.

I was going to suggest the Flinstones also. That is what we are doing and even the dog gets to get into it - by going as Dino.

We love doing family costumes too!

Last year, we did the Wizard of Oz (DD was Dorothy, DS was a flying monkey, DH and I were a scarecrow and a witch).

We thought about the Nintendo costumes before, too, but just haven't done it. We talked about doing Shreck or Family Guy this year.

I want to dress me and DS#2 up as pirates. I think it'd be so cute. We'll see. DS#1 will definitely want to be a superhero of some kind though (probably iron man)

How about a variation and do Mario Kart? You can be the characters but make cars out of cardboard boxes!!!

I'm trying to talk DH into being farmers and having DD be a lamb or cow. Could a barnyard theme work for you, OP?

Personally, I like it better when each of you are someone slightly different, so then the first ("I would be princess peach, DS could be Mario and DH could be Luigi").

Two years ago we were all pirates, last year we were each a standard halloween thing (DH a mummy, me a witch, DS1 a bat, and DS2 a pumpkin). This year we plan to be medieval people (DH a tavern man or king, me a princess, DS1 a knight, and DS2 a dragon). I love the Wizard of Oz idea, and want to do that halloween 2012 (we have a dragon costume from DS1 that I want DS2 to wear).

Last year DH was a "Sugar Daddy" and me and DD were Tootsie Rolls. It was really cute (and comfy!) This year we are thinking of doing crayons.

We are doing flinstones. My DH hates Halloween so I needed something that didn't require to much of a costume for him. I am putting him in an orange t-shirt and blue tie and he can wear jeans. I am going to buy a white one shoulder dress that I will be able to wear again next summer and I will buy LO the pebbles costume. We call her pebbles all the time b/c I always put her hair in the on top of head pony tail!

Normally we would not do a family dress up but DH has agreed to let me have a halloween party this year b/c I love this holiday soooo much!
