Babies: 3 - 6 Months

XP: high heels for babies yes or no

S o I was at church tonight and saw a baby who looked about 6 months.  She was adorable.  Since I now have a DD of my own, I always check babies out.  This baby had on these high heel leopard print shoes that looked absolutely ridiculous!  All I could think of was Suri Cruise.  Maybe it's me, but would you?

Re: XP: high heels for babies yes or no

  • I wouldn't. My cousin has a little girl and she is 3 years old and she has a pair of "high heels" I know they aren't very high, but can that really be good for their feet/legs? They're bad enough for adults, I don't know why you would put kids in them.  (I wear heels all the time, so I'm not one to talk) I just don't get what the rush is for them to grow up?!

  • My daughter, if I ever have one, will not be wearing heels until she is at least a teenager and I definitely will make her buy them herself if she wants them. There is no need to do the damage to their legs that heels do at such a young age.

  • lol what the hell?

Actually, I think these are probably better than a preschooler in heels since it's not like a 6 month old will be teetering around on them. Still ridic, though.

Okay, but the "damage" from high heels is from walking/standing on them.

This is a 6 mo. old in the OP.

They are seriously NMS, but I think this is kind of muchado about nothing. If these parents want to put high heels on their infant, who cares? I'm guessing it was just for fun. I'm sure we all put our kids in things WE think are cute, that someone else might give a serious side-eye to.

    Different tastes and all that.

Ick. I'm not one for high heels on little girls ever, but those are especially hideous.

  • This is where I draw the line. These are gross and ugly. Way to make babies look like wh*res. ughhhh.

  • I wouldn't put them on my DD but I know someone that just posted a pic on FB of her DD in them. She probably liked them because she works in fashion and loves shoes herself. Also, they won't do "damage" because the heels are soft.
  • When she's old enough to ask for them, then we can get them to play dress up. Until then, no way.

  • I would probably laugh out loud if I saw something like that, thinking it was a joke. They look absolutely ridiculous to me.

  • No way, but I'm also from the camp where LO will not be wearing shoes until she can walk. I think they are a waste of money in younger babies. In general, I think high heels look ridiculous on anyone younger than a teenager.

I wouldn't of bought shoes for Molls if it wasn't for her ankle issue.

  • 6 months?!!!  Seriously?  My pedi told me that people who do not walk yet, do not need to wear shoes at all.  I agree.

Oh and there is no way in h*ll my daughter is wearing heels until she's a teenager.

    Ankle issue? What ankle issue?

I also think most shoes are a waste of money until they can walk, unless it's cold outside of course. Even when they start walking they should wear soft sole shoes.

  • No, if for no other reason than those things are ugly as heck.
