  I hope you don't mind me chiming in but a friend of mine from high school has a business called hot mama gowns.  They don't sell pants but the gowns are supposedly extremely comfortable and great for nursing.

  I think I read a while ago that someone got some pjs from old navy. I would try looking at their website to see if you can find some and you can also try the gap. Sorry if u have already tried those places. I know for me I just wore a robe and pants with a nursing sports bra underneath. It's fairly cold in the hospital so even though it was 100 outside the long sleeve robe worked great.

  It's called "lifting your shirt."  :-)  Seriously, any specialty clothing is completely unnecessary.  If they're you're first, you'll actually likely just start out topless because it's easier and only add clothes to the equation as it gets more natural.  Dont' take anything to the hospital you don't want ruined.  Pads can slip, and you can get blood everywhere.

  I had yoga pants and nursing tanks (which I wore 24/7 the first few weeks) and got a robe on clearance at Target. The robe is short (waist length) so more like a jacket with belt.  I pretty much wore this the entire time we were in the hospital.  It worked really well.

  I got a set that had a top/pants and a matching pj set for the baby from Old Navy.  Honestly though, the top is a pain in my butt and even now that I have the hang of breastfeeding, I still take my whole arm out of the sleeve since it's easier and I am also wearing a sleep bra at night.  If I don't, the fabric falls in my son's face.
