Please tell me I am not the only one with a LO that still wakes every 2-3 hours to eat. I'm so jealous of everyone who posts about LOs sleeping for 6+ hours.
I was really hopeful yesterday, since DS was awake most of the day and really only took one long nap (1 1/2 hours) and one short nap (1/2 hour) during the day. I thought for sure he'd sleep longer last night...but I ended up feeding him at 2am, 3am (I didn't sleep in between those two feedings), and again at 4:15am. I'm hoping he'll get over this growth spurt and miraculously start sleeping longer.
If your LO is sleeping through the night, what time do you put him/her to bed? Do you try to keep him/her awake during the day? Do you have any other tips to share? Thanks!
Re: Sleep vent
Until around 6 weeks, DD was waking up to eat every 2-3 hours during the night. A couple of days before she hit 6 weeks, she woke me up every 2 hours during the night like clock work. After 2 days of that, she started going 3-4 hours occasionally during the night.
We moved her into her crib last night because I've been having a hard time sleeping through all of the grunting and moving around she did in her bassinet that is in our room. She slept from 10 pm until I woke her at 4:30 am to eat (I was freaked out when I woke up and realized how long she slept without waking up to eat b/c that's NEVER happened before!). I don't know if it was the crib mattress that was more comfortable for her than the bassinet or what but I had more sleep last night than I've had since DD was born! I hope last night wasn't a fluke!

BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
We are lucky to have about 8 days of 4-5hr stretches of sleep. It is soooo nice from the every 2-3 hr eating was doing last week.
I give him a bath every night (user aveeno soothing body wash). Dry him with a warmed towel out of the dryer.(yes, he is a prince!)
Then swaddle him. We had stopped swaddling, but then restarted it about 10 days ago.
Feed him before or after the bath (he determines this). Bath time depends on me, usually he gets a bath between 10pm and 10:30pm.
Naps during the day. Hit or miss. He sleeps when and where he wants to.
I have to believe it was the bath each night, since after I started that, he has slept 4+ hrs each night. I will not miss a bath. Ha ha.
Good luck!
My LO is still up every 2-3 hours. He sleeps 3 to 3.5 hours his first 2 stretches, then 2 hours his last stretch. Once in a glorious while, he'll go 4 hours, but rarely. I do find that the better he sleeps during the day, the better he sleeps at night.
ETA: At 6 weeks, though, and again at 8 weeks, he was up every 1.5 hours. I assume those were both growth spurts for him (the 8 week one, I wasn't expecting!)
Generally speaking, getting a baby awake during in the day means worse sleep at night, because they're overtired. To give yourself the best chance of a good night, make sure your LO naps well during the day.
