yes or no? high heels for babies

So I was at church tonight and saw a baby who looked about 6 months.  She was adorable.  Since I now have a DD of my own, I always check babies out.  This baby had on these high heel leopard print shoes that looked absolutely ridiculous!  All I could think of was Suri Cruise.  Maybe it's me, but would you?

  • :::shrug:::

NMS, personally, but then she's not my kid. If her parents like it, more power to them.

I put DD in really goofy hats half the time because it cracks me up. I'm sure other mothers are looking on in horror and wondering why I didn't just get her a normal sun hat. While she's little and has no opinion on fashion, I get to have fun. Mommy's prerogative.

  • I def would if.when I have a DD. But it is totally my style!  I love shoes, especially heels! :-)

  • No.  I think it would not only look stupid but I'm not putting anything sharp around my baby, especially not on her.

The only ones I've ever seen are soft, almost plush, not actual heels.

  • Eh, I personally think they're a little trashtastic. I'm one of those people who hates to see little girls trying to grow up and dress like adults too early, so the heels just rub me the wrong way.

"trashtastic" is my new favorite word.

No, I would never, ever put those on my child.

  • Nope. I remember when I was allowed my first pair of heels. I think I was like 13 and they were an inch.

  • No, I think those are horrible. Then again, I think shoes on babies are ridiculous in general.

    Ditto.  NMS.

  • I never would, heels are not for babies. Also, aren't heels supposed to be sexy? Or at least up the sex appeal? No baby needs that.

Duh... even babies need to make their butts stick out. :P

  • NMS, but I don't really care either. I'm assuming they're soft and not made like adult shoes so their little feet aren't constricted.

Same here. I think the first pair of heels is an age appropriate rite of passage, like shaving and wearing makeup.

  • Nope. But I'm not into heels myself.  And dd has never worn shoes.

  • On Halloween? Cute. To church, no. I'm also opposed to the early sexualization of young girls, and I'm very sensitive to that with my own DD.

  • NMS either, but I never put shoes on her any way.  We have them because people bought them for us but they look silly on her.
