Palmer's cocoa butter CREAM for stretch marks or lotion for stretch marks?

Is there any significant difference between them? Does the lotion not work as well cause it's not as thick? I accidently bought the lotion instead of cream, and I'm worried it wont help prevent stretch marks as much.

    With DD I used the Tummy Butter which comes in a jar and it's thick.... I didn't get any stretch marks. I have been using the lotion up to this point but I am going to switch to the butter again since my tummy is really starting to grow. I don't know if one works better than the other, but I had a good experience with the thicker Tummy Butter.

    No lotion or cream of any kind will keep you from getting stretch marks.  This is mainly determined by your genetics.  You will want some type of lotion because your skin will stretch and get dry and cracked and you want to stay as comfortable as possible.  I would find a really well hydrating lotion that you like the smell of and go with that. To me, the cocoa butter stuff smells AWFUL so I avoid it.

    This! Don't make yourself miserable obsessing over preventing stretchmarks, if you are going to get them you will get them.

    Yeah I think you get them or you don't. I got stretch marks in high school!  I have the Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula, not the kind for stretch marks.  I bought that one once and it smelled AWFUL - like a stinky vitamin or something.  Anyway I use that lotion but just for moisturization.  Idt it will help me from getting stetch marks but I've thought about buying some Bio Oil to alleviate the appearance of the darker/deeper ones I have.

    I like the cream, it feels like it "lasts longer" throughtout the day. Lotions I find myself re applying a few times as day as my belly gets itchy.

    Bath and Body Works has a a body butter that comes in a tub and is amazingly hydrating.  I love it because it does moisturize well and you can get it in the scent of your choice.

    Ditto... I have read/heard that it's all in your genetics.  I haven't used any creams or lotions yet (plan on using them the bigger I get just for hydration). i figure if I get them I'm not gonna sweat it since I can't do anything about it.  Hopefully I take after my momma who had 2 kids and never got a single stretch mark :)

    I use the butter/cream at night and the lotion in the morning. I know they say stretch marks are genetic, but my Mom doesn't have any after three kids and she religiously applied the creams/lotions. I'm hoping I have genetics and creams/lotions on my side.

    I did the palmer's lotion and drank a TON of water... hydration is important for your skin! No stretch marks... a lot of it is genetics tho :) GL

    I did lotions, creams, bio oil and I always drink a ton of water. Guess what? Stretch marks all over my belly and my hips! There you go... what can you do? But when I consider that I got my daughter as a result, they're totally worth it!  :)

    Thanks for all your input ladies! I don't have any yet, and I have pretty good skin, so I'm just doing the lotion/cream as an extra precaution. My momma didn't have any that stuck around either so I'm cool if it's genetic!
