clothing for sleeping?

Good morning all, I am new to this board as I typically hang out on the food allergy board.  But, I have a question for all you that have a baby about the same age as my DS.  My husband and I cannot agree on how much clothing to have our son sleep in with it being summer time.  We live in NE so it's HOT and we keep our house set at ~76.  What do you all put your little ones to bed wearing? TIA!

Re: clothing for sleeping?

  • I put DS in a cotton sleeper.  It's hot in Florida, but we keep the house cool.  We have his AC vent shut off (but air still comes in) and the fan on in his room.

  • I have a warm baby and our a/c is set at 76 upstairs so I usually dress her in a short sleeve top and either footie or non footie pj pants. I love the pjs from Walmart (Faded Glory) that have the cute sayings on them. Before it was so warm I was having her sleep in footies and will put her back in them as it gets cooler.

  • When it's warmer in our house (like when it was over 100deg a few weeks ago) we had him in a long sleeved onesie and socks.

Normally he's in a longsleeved sleeper.  Our house is set to 72, but it's alw hotter upstairs than down, even though we have the downstairs vents closed.

  • We do just a short-sleeve onesie and he's swaddled in the miracle blanket.  We also keep the ceiling fan on.
  • LO just wears a onesie and his swaddle blanket.

  • I struggle with this. Our a/c is set on 73 and his ceiling fan is on low. Right now he wears a short sleeve onesie and his bottom half is wrapped in a A&A blanket

  • Long sleeve footed sleeper. Her room is usually 72-74 with the AC on.
  • We keep our house pretty cool. Like 70 degrees. He also has a fan in his room directly in front of the AC vent and his door closed so his room is on the cooler side.

He wears a long sleeve onesie and a sleepsack.

Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

DD is in a short-sleeved or sleeveless onesie and a cotton sleeper. I also still wrap her in a cotton SwaddleMe, but under her arms, so it's basically like a sleepsack. We're in NY but have central AC, and it's usually 71-75 in her room at night. She's perfectly comfortable - if anything, a little cool, because her hands are always cold in the morning.

  • Our a/c is set at 76 at night.  We're in Ohio.  DS's room doesn't cool down a lot.  He's usually in a short sleeve onesie and a sleepsack with the fan on low, but sometimes I feel l ike I should have him in a long sleeve onesie.

  • Our house is set at 75, so on the second floor where the bedrooms are it's probably around 77. We have DD in a onesie, then a light cotton sleep sack. She's very comfortable with this on.  If we put her in a sleeper she would sweat.
