Yeah, I know its a bit away, but his birthday is March 25 and that falls on a Sunday next year. I want to do a 1 yr. photo shoot with a photographer we know, but she books up quick so I want to get on the books now. She does Saturday and Sunday, so I would either do the 24th or 25th of March. Then the other day I would have his party.
So, I just wanted to get peoples opinions on what day they prefer to attend child birthday parties. Is there any reason why a Saturday or Sunday would be better in your opinion??
TIA!
(PS: Post and run)
Re: XP: 1 yr. Birthday
It depends on how many people come from out of town. We'd have to have the party on Saturday since we do not live near our families, and they will be flying to see us.
Yes, I live in Sterling Heights. My husband's cousin's wife does them, her name is Amy Schrodt, here is her link: https://www.pureamourphotography.com/
She did our maternity shots and they were awsome! She just does one price for the shoot and then you get a CD of all the shots and a photo release so you can print them yourself. This is perfect for me!
Also, my husband's other cousin's wife's sister (confused yet!) also does photography and we are going to have her do our 6 month shots since Amy is already booked for that time period. Her link is: https://www.annekernphotography.com/index.html
This is a GREAT point...this is why I posted this, to get thoughts I didnt think of. Thanks!
If you're having OOT guests, I would have the party on Saturday. Sunday might be tough for people who have to travel.
If everyone is local, I'd have the pictures on Saturday and the party on Sunday, for the reasons others have mentioned.
Just curious, is there some reason you have to have the pictures and the party in the same weekend?
I think it would depend on my LO's nap schedule/routine. Most of the 1st birthday parties I have been to have been around lunch time b/c then the LO can get their morning nap and their afternoon nap so they won't be cranky at their party.
That being said, Sunday lunches are hard for a lot of people with church commitments. And I agree with PP about the OOT guests.
I think Saturday would be much better for a party. They will be fine for pics the next day. They don't have that much long term memory and if they get a good nap in the pm and a good night's sleep, LO should be fine. We had Easter pics the day after DS's first Bday party and he was fine by then. It was actually easier to entertain him b/c we had new toys to bribe him with!
