Pregnant after IF

PIO injects

I hated the idea of suppositories, so I gladly chose weekly PIO instead of daily supps. Since I've never done a treatment cycle, this was a new thing for me. DH is a PA, so he knows the drill for IM injections, but he's never done PIO ones.

Am I missing any good tips? Warm the syringe, obv. use the smaller needle to inject, massage area to help oil disperse. Anything else? I just wasn't expecting the site to still be so tender two days later. It's not bad, just surprising.

Bless you ladies who did these nightly for weeks.

  • I did all that you just listed, but after massaging the area I applied heat for about 15 min too. GL!

  • Putting an ice pack on the area you plan to inject into and then a heating pad on it after tends to help with any pain/welts.

  • I also iced for 2 minutes before the shot.  Also, DH sorta stretched the skin in the area before injecting and I didn't have any pain for my weeks of daily injects!  Massaging after is key!
  • Warm up the oil in your hand a bit before putting it in the syringe.  After the shot have DH massage the area as best as he can with a very warm wet wash cloth,,,,
  • Thanks, ladies!

  • Hahaha I'm on twice a day! I'm actually okay as long as I ice beforehand. I warm the syringe up in my armpit, and then will massage or do a heating pad after, but now nothing helps. At least the ice pack numbs it enough for me to get through the shot itself.
