The only sleepsacks I've been able to find are ones with feet or are sleeveless. Do you have a sleepsack that fits your toddler but looks like a 'normal' sleepsack?
We still use them every nap/night... although my DD is only 1 and she still fits in a "large", so I haven't had this issue. A quick look online shows x-large is the biggest the regular sleepsacks are made....then the toddler ones have feet. If the feet holes are an issue you could sew them shut and cut off any excess fabric from the cuffs. GL HTH
nope, he hasn't used one since he was about 5 months old. He sleeps in a footed sleeper (lightweight or fleece depending on season) and has a blanket in the crib.
I'm curious about the sleepsack users here... we stopped using them when DD started becoming mobile. Now that she stands up and walks around her crib I can't imagine her doing that while in a sack! Does that not affect anyone's LO? Just curious. :-)

DD's been wearing a sleep sack since 6 months old and still does now at 21 months. It totally doesn't affect DD when she walks in her crib. She moves allllll over. It's a lightweight material and is quite long (has a lot of space for her feet to move).

I didn't start using a sleepsack until much later (I can't remember when) and now I wished I started sooner. Before using the sleepsack she just slept in her pajamas w/o a blanket since I was afraid it would get wrapped around her in a dangerous way. I used to watch DD over the monitor and she would sleep curled up. I finally discovered the Halo sleepsack for walkers that has the holes for the feet so I decided to try that out. The first night DD wore that not only did she sleep spread out with total abandonment but she slept longer. It made me realize that the whole time she was curled up was probably because she was cold. Total mommy guilt right there! I haven't stopped using that and I will probably continue for a while longer. When it's hotter I just have her sleep without pants and she seems fine. Otherwise, putting her in regular pajamas, socks, and the sack has been sufficient.

Nope, the sack doesn't seem to affect her. She walks around her crib all the time.
This... to me "normal" is sleeveless. Yes, DD at 21 months still wears a sleep sack.
I guess that's the problem I'm running into. We started with sleepsacks w/ sleeves so that was our 'normal', but obviously we were in the minority since the sleeveless are all that I can seem to find now.
I did do a search on Etsy after posting this and found quite a few sellers that make sleepsacks like I'm looking for. )
We stopped using them in the beginning of summer, when DS was around 13 months. It's too warm now and I figure when it gets cooler in the fall, we'll just start using a blanket. I've only seen the sleeveless ones.
No, we stopped using a sleepsack when DD was 7 months old. I didn't want to wait too long and have problems weaning her from it so she sleeps in a footed sleeper with a crochet blanket in her crib.

No way! he's old enough to sleep with a blanket. He has been using a blanket since about 9 months old
Your son must be a calmer sleeper than DD. She has two blankets in her crib and everytime I look on the video monitor, they are in various states of total disarray. She very rarely manages to actually keep herself covered. I like the sleepsacks in the winter, because at least she'll have some covering when she kicks her blankets off.
We will keep using the sleepsacks until she is old enough to need a nightime potty.
OP - We put a Children's Place footed longsleeve sleeper on her every night all year round. Then on cold days we add the cotton sleepsack. On really cold days, we add the fleece sleepsack.

We're still using Halo sleepsacks for DS, but they're sleeveless. I did have a few Carter's sleepsacks with sleeves when he was little but they only come in one size, 0-9 months. It doesn't restrict his movement at all, he can walk in his crib easily.

DS uses one and he is 13 months old. He's been using it since he was 7.5 months old. He can walk, crawl, roll, etc. just fine in his sleep sack.
