Worried

Hi ladies,

for the past couple of days I have had some off and on light brown "spotting" on TP, after wiping.  I had it again this AM.  When I looked in the toilet I saw the tiniest piece of vaginal tissue ( I guess.. I don't know how else to describe it).  I called my doctor just yesterday, regarding the brown spotting, and they told me that it's nothing to worry about.  Now seeing that small bit of "tissue", today, I'm completely worried.  I'm not sure if I should call them again?  I don't have cramping or red bleeding.. which is what they told me to look for.  Has anyone else had light brown, on TP, after wiping or seen little pieces in the toilet bowl.  I'm 6 weeks. Really hoping that this is nothing to worry about!  It's so hard not to worry after reading so many conflicting stories all over the web Sad

TIA!

Re: Worried

  • It can't hurt just to call your doctor to be sure. That's what they're there for, and they will probably be able to give you the most peace of mind! Good luck...I hope it turns out to be nothing!

  • I had the same thing for about a week and was seen by my dr for it! They said not to worry too much about it since its "old blood". They said they only thing to worry about it heavy dark red bleeding and painful cramps (like you feel when you start your period)

  • I had what sounds like a similar thing. I had brown spotting accompanied by some brown, tissuey-mucousy pieces. My RE said not to worry about it. I had it for a few days and then it stopped. Call your Dr if you are worried but I think you are fine.

  • I am having that same thing right now. The dr ordered an ultrasound as soon as I called to ask about it - and it turned out I have something called subchorionic bleed, which is basically blood clots stuck between the sac and the uterus. So spotting is inevitable for me. She said it wasn't anything to worry about and that she's seen women with huge clots even go on to have healthy babies.

So spotting may just be a sign that something is going on up there - not necessarily something scary.

  • Thanks for your input!!  It makes me feel soooo much better!

I called my doc and they don't seem to concerned about the little pieces of tissue / mucus either... they said that it's just discharge that has mixed with old blood and came out in the toilet.  I hope that's all it is!!  I just can't help but think something is wrong since this doesn't seem to happen to too many pregnant women?!

  • It is probably nothing to worry about but I would still call and check in.

Thanks!  Hmmm.. see this is what worries me.  My doctor's office doesn't seem to flinch when I tell them about this.  I kind of expected them to want to see me like your doctor did!  I'm glad that everything is OK with you!!

  • I have been dealing with this exact thing this week.  For about four days now...brown spotting on T.P. and brown mucus discharge.  Doctor's office wasn't really worried...however they did have me do one blood draw on Tuesday and my numbers looked great and i went back today for a second blood draw...but I don't know the results yet.   Good luck!  I will let you know how mine turns out...hopefully it's just nothing for us!!!

  • I had it too.  Right around the same time.  Dr. said it was left over implatation bleeding and not to worry.

    Good luck.  T&Ps for you.
