My OB is not my RE

So at my 2nd appointment I asked what my progesterone was and he said they didn't check it. Okay... How long do I continue the Crinone? My OB said "well what ever your RE told you" Then we were talking about my cycle they didn't understand that they couldn't calculate my EDD by my LMP since I was stimming for about 24 days. So my OB says to me " okay so this is a clomid pregnancy." OMG yes Doc I injected myself with clomid for 24 days. The worse part my DH said "I really like this guy" It's gonna be a long 9mths!!!

OBs are stupid. They go by that stupid LMP crap all the time. Why not just go by the REs records of date of conception. Blah.

Wow- that's scary... I am already planning on having to push to stay on Metformin, and to get a GTT done early- as I am still not sure if I'm diabetic... I guess this just reinforces that I am going to have to continue to be my own advocate...

And I already am planning on lying about my LMP (only off 1 day from a normal cycle length) because I don't even want to mess with arguing!

Hope he grows on you- or you can get a better Dr.!

Agreed. I've been frustrated after both of my OB appts so far because it was a whole lot of waiting for a whole lot of nothing!

This makes me nervous as I haven't had my first OB yet, it's at the end of the month. I'm just going to re-iterate everything my RE says and hope that will work.

I had to explain so much to my OB about my fertility treatments it was ridiculous. Don't these guys ever talk? I mainly see an MFM and they are like the OB equivalent of to an RE - much better.

Sorry, it is hard to go from a super efficient office to one that is not so efficient and has the feeling of flying by the seat of one's pants.

When I was asked about my LMP, I asked why she needed it 1) just to know or 2) to calculate my EDD. She said to calculate my EDD so I told her when it would have been if I were one of the mythical women who has a 28 day, evenly split cycle & ovulates on cd 14. All of the testing would have been off by almost a week if I let them be "in charge" Wink What they don't know and all.

eta: My RE sent a letter to my OB letting them know what had been going on with my care. So that was nice.

oh no! that is not fun. i LOVE my OB. my RE referred me to her and she is soooo in the loop with ivf, etc... in the beginning she would send my chart to my RE to make sure he was ok with things. if you don't love your OB i say change OBs. good luck!!!

It only took my OB 6 appointments and my a/s scan to stop using LMP as my due date. It was actually the MFM I saw for a/s scan who got my OB to use the correct EDD (exactly what my RE told them the EDD was).

Confused Oh boy. I really hope things get better with this guy, I'm not sure I could handle that kind of know how for 9 months.

FWIW I'm on progesterone suppositories and my RE said I have to be on them until about 9 weeks when the placenta takes over.
