A very interesting Thursday!

Yesterday I took the day off to spend it with A. Daycare was going to the Plumpton Park Zoo in Rising Sun, MD (Cecil County). We've been before, so we knew what to expect. The zoo is smaller then Baltimore or DC Zoo's, but it's perfect for this age group (1-3) and doesn't have as much walking like the bigger zoo. Plus it's under new management. After checking out all the animals we went to the picnic and playground area. DD had no interested in eating, more into playing. At the end of the day, my DCP comes over and announces that she's stopping her daycare starting September 1. As she's talking to me, I'm thinking, this is great. She plans to go out on Maternity leave in October, so we were going to move A over to a center when she hits 2. DH and I are now debating if we should call new Daycare and try to get her in earlier, say September instead of October. We would obviously have to pay the infant fee at the center, but I'm thinking this may be good for A. I'm obviously nervous about the change, but DD seems to have opened up more in the last few months. Or I could have my aunt watch her for that one month... decisions, decisions!

I vote for the center so she can hang with Sydney!

But if they don't have an opening at that point, then obviously you could ask your aunt.

Btw, I think that's pretty crappy that she's giving you such short notice about stopping. Less than a month is not a ton of time to find something new!

I agree, but I just smiled and went my merry well. As you know, we've been looking for awhile now.

I'm going to give them a call today and see if I can get her in starting in September.

Good luck. Hopefully if you can get her into the center, they'll just go ahead and put her in the room she would have gone to in October.

She's older now and I think it will be good for her to be in a new environment with more kids her age! I would get her into a center as soon as possible and transition that way instead of having your aunt watch her if that is an option. Less disruption for her.

yes - ditto the others. I'd do it sooner rather than later.
