i'm taking a break- what's going on?

how has everyone been?

i've been crazy busy at work, but it's all good. i love the new responsibilties, working with different people and not doing all my co-workers work! lol  

M's speech has exploded some in the past few weeks. he can now say almost every letter, has been saying them on his own (no promting). he also can count, this just in the last day or so, using more then the numbers 2 & 9. now he only leaves out #7, and again using them on his own with no prompting.

last night DH called me into the bathroom while he was giving M his bath, M then decided that he would start calling me 'Amy'. cute. so he's using more words! 'please' has (finally) become 'lease' we've stopped using 'pah pah pah' for that. he likes to ask to watch 'elmo' and 'word world' and he likes to tell me to 'sit'.

he also understands that if he wants something and says 'please' he damn well better get it, on the other hand you can say 'please' till your blue in the face and he wont' comply. ever.

i would also like to point out the educational value of Word World as my mom wrote 'ball' on his write board and he told her what that said. my child can read! lol netflix through the wii is worth every penny!

DH and I have had a few date nights, we went to two amazing concerts. we tried out a new babysitter too, my mom's neighbors 16 yo daughter. M loves her and her younger sister so it's working out great.

i was bummed i missed wine night (again) but i made up for it the next night at that wedding i 'crashed'! my date- a good friend who is one month pp really needed a night out and we had a great time. the bride was beautiful and just a little bridezillia-ish in the beginging of the reception but later in the evening she was on the dance floor dancing to every song and having a great time. the groom (my old co-worker who invited me last min) didn't bail, and was having a great time too and it was fun talking about old times with him and the other friends that were there that we worked with.

sorry to post a novel and run but i have to get some odds and ends wrapped up before i get the boy at 5. my dad is buying his first brand new truck tonight and he is so excited! he can't wait to get a car seat and put M in the back (club cab). i think we may buy one for him as an early b-day gift!
