jumperoo

What age are you putting LO in it to play? I think she's tired of her bouncy chair.

Re: jumperoo

  • My DH put our LO in this week, much to my chagrin. I'm back at work so I can't keep these things from happening.

I think it's too soon. She only lasted a couple minutes before she was done. I think 4 months she will be more ready.

  • I think around 3 1/2 to 4 months. We keep changing out the toys that hang from his bouncy chair. We attached our own toys to it so it changed it up and the new toys got his attention
  • two weeks ago. She is still way too little, but she likes it for 15-20 mintues because it is different,

  • We went to the exersaucer before the jumperoo with DS (we have both.)  And we didn't start until he was showing interest in sitting up which was like 5-6 months for him.

Do you have a Bumbo?? That might be something different and around 12 weeks, our LO's start discovering their posture it's a great time to get it out.  You'll notice they want to stand up, push off, then sit down etc.  That's baby discovering their posture! I love it :) So yeah, it's all about the Bumbo right now. I won't even get the exersaucer/jumperoo out of storage for a few more months.

Exersaucers and jumperoos tend to extend babies hips and it's not good for them when they are this little.

  • Oh, and head control. You want to be sure they have really good head control, especially when you put them in a jumperoo.

I can't leave the Bumbo out. Not because Lila doesn't like it, but because Jack is skinny and likes to call it a potty. I am afraid of what could happen...

I can't wait for all the Jumperoo Poo Posts!

Oh man, from lurking on 3-6 and 6-9 I realized there would be poo posts. All I can say is EWW.

No! The Jumperoo Poo is great! You can take a constipated for days baby, put them in the jumper and there you go, no more pain.

Really?! Good to know. The posts I've seen have been along the lines of my kid shiit all over himself and the jumperoo. I'm sure my days are coming, lol

  • I am thinking about getting the jumperoo out now.  DS has been getting in the exersaucer for a few weeks now for short periods of time and loves it.  But I would like to send that to my parents house for when they keep him there while I am at work.  But I think he still might be too short for the jumperoo.  We shall see.

But I wouldn't put ds in either if he didn't have (and has had for quite some time) excellent head control and is starting to sit on his own some and also stand and bear weight on his legs regularly.

  • At least four months.  There is no way DS was ready for it before then and I don't see DD ready for it before then either.

  • Once she has really good head control. Also, when her feet can touch the ground. I've heard that it's not good to have baby practice standing on their tippy toes. That you should wait until they can have their feet flat to use the things that they stand it.

  • We recently tried it with O because he loves to stand and jump on our laps but he is still way to short for it. Im sure in the next month or so he will be ready for it.

  • I can't wait to use ours because his favorite thing is to stand on our laps and bounce/walk. But we keep testing his head control in the Bumbo and it's not really there yet. No exersaucer and I can't rationalize buying one in addition to all the other stuff he received.

  • I took out the Jumperoo this week so that DS has another place to hangout. He seems to like it so far, mostly because of the music it plays, but it helps when I need time to get myself something to eat or something... DS is too short but I've put 2 books underneath so he can have his feet flat and jump.. Working good so far. DS wont stay in it for more than 15 min sometimes less...

I also stuff a receiving around him, because his torso will wobble in the seat if I dont.

Thanks for the info! We have a Bumbo, it's stored in the attic, I just put it on DH's list to get out this weekend.  She has great head control but I'm in no rush to move another huge baby equipment to the house, so I'm going to hold off on the Jumperoo for a couple more months at least.
