Some of you might remember that we have been to the dr. off and on for the past couple weeks. Ear infection a couple weeks ago, which must have cleared up because the dr. yesterday said her ears look good (yay!). But, she has had a fever between 100-103 for a couple days so that is why we went to the dr. She had no answers for me since Stella has no other symptoms other than not eating much. She told me just to keep an eye on the fever.
Stella wakes up this morning without a fever, but there were a few red bumps on her legs and a couple on her face. She isn't really playing much, just kind of clingy and laying around. After her nap I realized she has even more red bumps on her legs (and just a couple on her arms). Getting ready to call the dr. back, but I hate being "that" mom that calls all the time and usually forget to ask all my questions when I do call. Anyone had experience with this type of rash? Possibly chicken pox?

Update: I called the dr. office right after I posted this and talked to the nurse. Told her all of Stella's symptoms and she said she would have the dr. call me back. 3 hours later and no call. I didn't call back to check because I just assumed she would call back when she could and that maybe she didn't return calls until the office closed (an hour ago), but still no call. So frustrating.
Re: Diagnose my DD please (PIP)-UPDATE
Don't worry about being "that" mom. Take her to the doctor.
I have no idea what it is, but I hope it gets better soon.
A kiss he will never forget- Disney World 2014
Has she had her chicken pox vaccinations? If so, it's probably not that.
Is the rash raised? It could be hand, foot and mouth. DD has had it a few times and she doesn't ever get teh rash except in her mouth (where I can't see it) but both times it has started w/ a "mysterious" fever and no other symptoms. Then she gets cranky and seems to not feel good. She also gets really bad diarrhea, hopefully your DD will skip that part. It's just a virus and relatively harmless.
If the rash is flat, it could be roseaola. Again, a fever type virus. Pretty typical and run of the mill.
Either way, I would call your pedi. That widespread of a rash definitely warrants a call. Honestly I wouldn't worry about being "that mom". It's not like you are calling about a hang nail. Also, make a list of questions to ask when you call so you don't forget. Good luck
Don't think of yourself as "that mom" when you have new symptoms to report.
Never hesitate to call, that's why we have, and pay for, insurance. GL
could be eczema or a heat rash. my DD gets its all over. we have a rx lotion we put on it when it pops up.
call your doc. it could be hand foot mouth, eczema, heat rash ect...no matter what it is they'll be able to help you out with an rx and make it worth calling.

I would not want to play around with that. I have no clue what that is but I wouldn't wait.
Please let us know what they say if you do take her in (I hope you do).
Go Phils!!
DS just got over Roseola. He had a fever for 3 days, when it went away he broke out in a rash similar to that. His rash was mostly on his torso with a little bit on his legs. There were thousands of dots just like that.
Doc said it was no big deal as long as his fever didn't get dangerously high.
It's not Roseola. The rash from Roseola only appears on the trunk of the body. It is preceded by an insanely high fever and the rash appears 24 hours after the fever has broken. (My son had it when he was 2).
It is not Fifth Disease. The trademark of Fifth Disease are bright red "slapped-looking" cheeks and no fever. The rash is all over in a faint lacy pattern. (My DD just had Fifth Disease two weeks ago).
It could be an allergic reaction or a number of other things. For the most part rashes are not serious. I wouldn't panic unless she runs a very high fever and/or seems lethargic. Try giving her some Benedryl and wait 24 hours to see if it goes away or gets worse.
DS's fever hit 102 at it's highest, so it was never insanely high.
It is also not true that the rash is contained to the trunk. DS had it on his face and scalp as well.
This exactly. DD had it last month. Started on the trunk, then spread to legs, face and arms.
It could be the last of the fever and prior illness leaving her system. DS had an ear infection and fever. At the tail end he also had a rash. It lasted a couple days and then he was fine. I had a number of people say sometimes when the illness and fever is leaving their system body rashes and diaper rashes can occur.
This isn't always true. My DS, who has a history of high fevers (104 - 106), only had a fever of about 102 or 103 when he had roseola. Also, the rash does not necessarily have to be on their trunk. DS's started on his trunk, but spread to his arms and legs. The rash on his trunk was actually pretty unnoticeable. It was the rash on his legs that even got us to call the pedi. The doc pointed out the trunk rash once we were in the office.
Go Phils!!
This is not true at all. Emma had a Roseola rash all over her body, even on her forehead. Also, her fever wasn't "insanely high," it never got above 101.
Roseola. My DD and a friends DD had this recently. Fever one day, fine the next and then break out in a rash. My DD had red bumps on her face really bad.
I would bet this could be it.
This! DD had roseloa and it sounds exactly like what your DD has. The fever started one day around 99 (I thought teething) then the next day higher and at the peak she was 104 with Tylenol! We had to rush her to the Dr. She had no other "illness symptoms" then the fever broke and she had a rash on her legs/arm/ and little on the back. She had the fever about 3 days then the rash.
We just had a similar experience. My DS had a fever of 102.9 for about 3 days. I took him in thinking it was an ear infection, but his ears and everything checked out. They drew his blood to check for some of things, and that came back fine.
Finally, our pedi just said it was a viral infection that would clear on its own. She never gave us a name, but said that it very well could be followed by a rash, and to not be alarmed by that.
Thankfully, we never got the rash, but maybe your DD has the same viral infection.
This exactly. Sounds just like what happened to my son a month ago. He had a pretty high fever for no reason, was clingy and not eating much. The fever broke on the 3rd day and them the rash appeared. No longer contagious once the fever breaks. It's in the Chicken Pox family.
