Summer Infant Video Monitor Issues?

I feel like in the past people have posted that they had problems with maintaining a signal on their video monitor.  If you had this issue, did you ever resolve it?

We can get a signal approx. every 5 connection attempts, but it will only stay for 30 secs or so before it loses the signal.

    Do you live in a condo complex? Sometimes there is interference from other monitors or the close proximity of things like internet connections, smart phones, etc..... Does the scream just scramble?

    We live in a townhouse community and there are sooo many babies here that every other house has this monitor.  So we do get interference.  We always get a signal and we can see very clearly, but the sound is often crackly.  Sometimes it helps to switch to a different channel, but that's annoying to do so often.  Wish I could help you more, but I imagine video monitors in general have this issue.

    Can i piggyback on this? I am thinking of getting a video monitor but i've heard bad things about the S.I. because it's not digital - so you can pick up video and sound from other people with nearby video monitors. That really freaks me out that I might be able to see (and vice versa) into some other baby's room. Has anyone had this problem?

    We do get this occasionally with the Summer.  Ours faces directly into DS's crib...it's not like you can visualize the whole room set-up or anything, and he sleeps with pajamas on.  I haven't ever paid attention to the other baby that every once in a while will appear on the other channel on a fuzzy screen, sleeping, just like DS.  The quality is not so high that you can zoom in or even identify the baby.  I assume it's one of our neighbors.  I don't get sound from other families, just crackles and a broken image.
