  • I'm a FTM so I don't know lots but a friend told me it has to do with stretching ligaments getting ready for the big push:) hang in there!

  • Do you have swelling on that side???  Around 20 weeks I actually developed an engorged vein in my vagina(think hemerrhoid in your vagina).  As I was on my feet, the swelling would worsen so by the end of the day it would be big and painful!!  Sorry, I know this is gross, but if this is what it is, there isn't much you can do.  It probbably does have alot to do with LO's position, mine has lessened since she has dropped. Putting your feet up when you can helps alot to. Good luck

  • Oh my that may be what I have going on!  Around 20ish weeks or so my left foot became very swollen, but since has gone down.  The doc said it may have been how the baby was positioned on my left side restricting blood flow to my left foot.  It's ironic how now my left side of my crotch is very sore, but not my right???  hmm

  • I've been having the same thing and its horrible!!! From what I've heard it could be from the baby sitting on different nerves. Not fun!

  • Hello,

Lurking here from 2nd trimester, I'll be joining soon.  I've been feeling this for the past few days!  feels like someone had punched me in the Vag!  Glad to know that I'm not alone.

  • I have been experiencing the same thing.  I just asked my doctor about it when I had my appointment on Monday.  She said it's perfectly normal.  It's from the baby's weight pressing on nerves and causing swelling in that area.  Oh the joys of pregnancy!
  • I've been having the same issue on the same side as OP! It's been going on for a while now and feels like I got kicked in the crotch with a steel toed boot! My mom's a nurse so I asked her about it (I always go to her first instead of calling my dr, otherwise I'd be calling my dr alllll the time). My mom said it's just normal pressure from the way the baby's positioned. I'm ready for this pain to go away cause it mostly happens to me at night so it makes it hard to roll over when I'm already uncomfortable sleeping.

  • I've had this for a long time now! It's horrible. I finally asked my doctor about it and she said it was from baby's position and vericous *sp?* veins in the groin area. So much freakin fun being pregnant! I never had this with my first child!! She told me to use an ice pack and make sure I elevate my feet as much as possible.

  • I've had this pain since 19 weeks (I'm almost 34 now) and it hasn't let up yet.  I was told the ligaments are stretching.  I'm sorry to say, but it gets worse.  Good Luck ladies.

  • it's most likely a couple muscles - the psoas and the obturator related to SI joint dysfunction (from ligaments not supporting the pelvis). i've been going to physical therapy for a few months now for it with little lasting relief, but they recommend getting a special support belt for the pain and tell me i should feel back to normal 3 months post partum with continued physical therapy.
