Yesterday at my 36 week appointment My doctor gave me the 'when to come to the hospital run down'
I have always heard to wait until your contractions are at least 4-5 minutes apart, but my Dr. said to wait until they are 4-5 minutes apart and have been for at LEAST an hour / hour & half. I know he is trying to cut down on time wasted in hospital but I dont think I want to wait that long! (can you hear the FTM panic in my voice? lol)
What are somethings your Doctors have told you?
Re: When did your Dr. Say to call him?
5-1-1...5 minutes apart lasting 1 minute for 1 hour.
Make a pregnancy ticker
This is when I'm supposed to head to the hospital. I'll probably call a little before that, but won't leave until the 5-1-1.
We'll always remember our angel baby: BFP 9/24/10, M/C 10/23/10 8w4d
My doctor just gave me a list of things to call for:
Bleeding
Leaking fluid
More than 5 contractions an hour
If the baby doesn't move/kick for more than half a day
He didn't give me a time or length for the contractions just to call if I have 5 or more in an hour no matter how long they last.
4/5 - 1 - 1 is standard. it's not just your dr.
or water breaking.
Clearly I have never heard of this 5-1-1 thing
And clearly I'm the only one lol
My doctor hasn't said anything about it yet, but the book they gave me when I switched to their practice said 5 mins apart, lasting a minute, for an hour.
As a funny side note, my parents told me the other night about when my mom was in labor with me and my dad was trying to time the contractions and he was so flustered he kept screwing it up and they were getting all kinds of crazy numbers. Once they got to the hospital, her contractions were actually 2 minutes apart, not the 6 that he had calculated. Silly dads.
