TMI poop post, where's DianaMCU?

Those of you with both constipation and hemmorhoids...how are you handling it?

My doctor advised Colace for the constipation and good old witch hazel for the hemmorhoids. I have also upped my fiber intake to help move the process along. Unfortunately, I also have to take an extra iron pill for anemia and that is pretty binding.

The Colace, witch hazel and fiber have helped slightly, but things are still pretty uncomfortable. Have any of you found any other remedies that you recommend?

  • I eat a couple of prunes every day, old people swear by it lol

When I had hemmorhoids previously, I used Tucks pads with a lot of relief

  • Fresh papaya always does the trick for me. I slice it and either add it to smoothies or eat it plain with some lime juice on it. It is super high in fiber and has a pretty high water content as well. Hope you get some relief soon!

  • ACTIVIA!!!!  the yogurt. I also eat a sandwich with raw spinach everyday for lunch. Its all natural and the spinach isn't bad in a sandwich it's (almost) like lettuce with all the rest of the fixings.

I go almost everyday and sometimes 2x a day. With just those easy remedies.

  • I am going to eat a few more prunes today and add some new items to my grocery list.

  • Ask Jill about some high fiber pancake recipe she talked about back in the first trimester.  She said it always moved things along for her.

  • Which iron are you taking?  My doctor recommended Slow FE, which is GREAT, because my poops are perfectly passable.  It's a slow release pill, and it really brought my iron up.  The Tucks pads are...okay....I guess.  I don't know.  I've been using them for a long time, and I don't really see them impact the hems in any real way.

    Also...lots of water!
