A girlfriend of mine is looking for an OBGYN that has dealt with cervix complications. The office doesn't necessarily have to be high-risk, but she wants a doctor who will treat her condition seriously. Do any of you have a good recommendation for an office in montgomery county? I really liked my OBGYN, but am unsure if they would take on her case.
Thanks!
Re: High-risk OBGYN in Montgomery County
I was seen at Capital Women's Care Rockville office. I was high risk with DS2 because I had DS1 at 32 weeks--pPROM unexplained. Dr. Alam and Dr. Apgar took things very seriously. Some other docs in the practice weren't as concerned/proactive but I just told them what I wanted.
I did progesterone shots every week (at home) and I went in every 2 weeks and got a cervical check at each visit to make sure it was staying long and closed. I also had a few additional ultrasounds. I felt they took good care of me, although I think you always have to advocate for yourself. Anytime I mentioned feeling off, Dr. Alam always responded quickly and checked me out. I made it to almost 37 weeks with DS2 which is great!
2 years of TTC, Seeing RE Feb 09, 2 medicated TI cycles - BFNs, 3 medicated IUIs - BFNs, back to medicated TI cycles until IVF approval, IVF approved in March 2010. BFP on last medicated TI cycle.
I went to Greater Washington Maternal Fetal for a few weeks at the end of my pregnancy to monitor DD's arrythmia. I have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Pinckert and Dr. Manley (they were the only two I saw there) for talking me down off a ledge my first visit and keeping me at ease the subsequent visits.
They have 2 offices I believe, I used the one at the building attached to Holy Cross hospital.

I was high risk at the end of my pregnancy (PIH and GD), and Capital Women's Care in Silver Spring (on Georgia) took great care of me. I saw Dr. Tyau and Dr. Lizardo weekly during the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy, and they took things very seriously (maybe even more seriously than I did). I got weekly BPPs, and was monitored very closely. I ended up on modified bedrest at home from 32-35 weeks and delivered at 36 weeks.
I went to Greater Washington Maternal Fetal for my NT Scan and really liked the practice.
