Just Checking In
i haven't been Bumping and feel like i'm missing soooooooo much and there's no way i can keep up with the FB group. how's everyone been? what's been going on? how are the LO's?
addy is 5 months and a few days. she's past the stage of waking up in the middle of the night to talk and now would just rather stay up till 1230 playing with her hands and talking and playing with my shirt. she likes to rub fabric.
i had a great time in New Orleans with my friends and didn't feel too guilty about leaving the bf because my mom ended up keeping addy all weekend. yay because i wouldn't let her stay over if i were at home. i'm sleep deprived and coffee is my best friend but i'm not complaining too much cause i haven't gone nuts.
i'm super psyched that football is back. TrueBlood has gotten AWESOME. my netflix have been sitting on my counter for weeks and i have no patience to sit still through a movie. i am turning into my mother. i'm making sure i go see the Crazy Stupid Love movie this weekend though. i have no idea what's going on the with debt crisis. it's 105 degrees here everyday and fn carter's just sent the fall catalog with stuff i can never buy addy cause it doesn't get cold till after halloween.

I don't have FB so I can't keep up on people over there. Glad to hear Addy is well! I, too am super excited about football being back. We have an annual apple-picking/football party in September and we already started planning it!
I'm totally enamored with how C is growing and changing. She's just all smiles lately and watching her discover things is so fun. Her latest thing is hearing herself make noise - she squeals and hums and blows bubbles through her lips all day long. She's sleeping 10-12 hours straight at night and it's glorious. She rolls like a fool and I don't think it'll be too much longer until she's crawling! We're starting swim classes in September and we're all really looking forward to it.
I just realized that she's fully filling out her 9-month sleepers and I don't have any bigger ones. She was 27 inches a week ago, so she's super long for her age. We need to start looking for a convertible car seat!
DH and I are having date night this Sunday and have no idea what to do, because we're broke, lol. I need to start working part time but it's hard to find something that pays decently on weekends when I wouldn't have to pay for daycare. Wish me luck!

It's so good. I've started one myself just to keep track of the milestones in Chase's life. But, mostly it's just little notes to myself. Nice to hear bout your friend trip to NO. Sounds like a good time. And your mom probably loved havign Addy all to herself 
Skio: I hear you on the money's tight. I did find some local vineyards that offer wine tastings for $5 per person (5 wines). I'm thinking of doing that for our next date. More of a fun experience instead of a get sloshed kind of thing lol
We just got through our first low grade fever. Darn those 4 month shots! Poor dude only took 2 ounces at my mom's yesterday which totally had me panicked. Luckily he's feeling better but, I swear he tried to eat every hour last night, so I'm a bit exhausted.
I'm tried to read up on that whole put your baby down drowsy. I put him down drowsy and then he wakes himself up. I don't work tomorrow and I'm thinking of picking up Feber's book from the library. Might as well see what all the fuss is about.
Little dude is 15.3lbs and 25" long. Right between a 2 and a 3 diaper size. I've also been trying to find Pampers Swaddlers in 2-3 but, I can only find them on amazon for $10 more than what BRU is selling them for (but which are never in stock). So annoying.

Emilie loves to suck on fabric and rub it on her face too. The front of her outfits are always soaked! Aren't the new clothes at Carters to die for? Thankfully it does get cold here, so I can at least justify doing some shopping!
Emilie is doing great too. She's hopefully through the worst of the 4MW, although she's now going through the I-have-to-see-momma-and-daddy-all-the-time-or-I-will-scream phase. We've had to resort to either strapping her in the carrier or moving the highchair in the middle of the kitchen so I can make dinner. She's definitely been super clingy lately.
Otherwise she's been super happy lately. Every morning our "alarm" is listening to her talking and squealing to herself. It's super cute.

Hi guys, it's nice to hear from you guys and to hear that we're sort of going through the same things! I don't get on here much either anymore. Sadie is now about 5.5 mos old and is going through ANOTHER wakeful period! I don't know whats going on. She did it at 4 mos but got better. Now for the last week, she's been up about 2-3 times per night looking for her fingers/binky. It's maddening, as my 6 year old is having night terrors so between the two, mommy doesn't get much sleep!
She's a happy baby, but still gets crabby in the evening. She's really attached to me right now, but I'm working on that. If I'm away from her for more than a half hour, she starts screaming. UGH! It's hard too, because I'm home with her so I'm always with her. I think she's getting teeth, I can sort of see that tell tale gray line on her gums! And she chews everything that goes near her mouth!
I'm babysitting part time plus my older kids are constantly involved in activities so we never stop. I feel bad for Sadie as she is always being dragged somewhere for someone! I hope that will make her more adaptable when it comes to school! And we are in the same financial boat as well. Date night, whats that? I am so happy when I get an hour to scrapbook! All in all though, she fits in perfectely with our other 3 girls and we love her to pieces!
C got a fever after her most recent shots, too! Which is weird, because she already had her first round of these same shots. Why a reaction the second time? So weird. Her fever was up to 101.2 and I felt so bad - poor little thing just slept & sweat. But it was gone in 24 hours, thank goodness!

skio - good luck on date night. we're having one this weekend but we're just going to the grocery store to make a nice dinner and stay in. that counts right?!
barcelona - thanks for reading my blog!! glad yall made it through the fever. try and get some rest hon. we were talking about trying the CIO method with Addy but neither of us can stand to hear her cry so that's a no go.
